How do you turn cornstarch into leak-proof p**p bags? At first, it seemed a little far fetched to us too so we tracked down a team of technical gurus to find out how. It turns out, it's not as crazy as it sounds. Cornstarch can be turned into plant-based polymers, the building blocks that give plastic it's strength. It means that when rolled out into sheets, this cornstarch PLA has the strength, flex and durability of regular plastic bags, while being home compostable and biodegradable. How's that for plant based power?⁠!
