The beauty of open mics and the one’s that have happened here at Clay, lies deep rooted in human connections. A BUNCH of folks, every week wanting to feel alive, feel human and feel connected. Sure we constructed a stage out in the front a few years ago, but some of our fondest memories with you have been through that narrow door, pass the dart room and right in front of the bar. And with the weather being the way it is, it’ll almost be criminal not to relive it.

Clay’s Open Mics are not just for people with talent, but for those with a voice. As long as you have something you want to say, you are home. This warrants vulnerability, acceptance and attention. What better way is there than this to do it.

Our signature salads: highly customisable, highly nutritious and highly addictive. Pick a base. Choose your proteins (VE / V / NV). Choose A Dressing. Choose a size. And it’s served.

We’ve been extremely mindful of how to go about building our menu. With so many people visiting us from all sorts of backgrounds, preferences and lifestyle choices, the one that was missing from our menu was a healthy and tasty range of Salads which, thanks to our team back in April, we have been happily serving. Something that fills you up, without those heavy carbs, gives you a slightly larger portion of protein for your day, in different styles of dressings and bases to keep things fun.

Really....who said, salads were boring. Available at Clay Monday - Friday / 9.30AM to 6PM..

Food here at Clay is a way to feel like home. An excuse to say, let me take a break and just go home a bit. It always has been. As we gear up for a new seasons the team is working hard on bringing to you newer nicer things, that make you feel…well like home. ☺️🥰

Building something is a slow quiet process. It’s in that slowness and that quiet where inspiration and skill meet and dance with one another, explore each other from a place of curiosity. Push each other to go deeper into the problem not with the aim of finding a solution, but with a belief that a solution presents itself when the problem is truly understood.

Goaaaaa!!! We’re turning 6 and it’s near impossible to mention, celebrate, hug all you amazing souls who helped us get here! And we mean both the folks behind the scenes and you our community. So just show up and we’ll make sure to thank you! ☺️

The evening starts with some special open mic performances hosted by along side a lovely break away space called The Paper Room hosted by the amazing where you can doodle and drink and catch up friends. And the night closes with one of coolest kids on the block these days: Signal W’s ( ) first ever gig at The Shed. You maybe have seen them before but you know gigs at The Shed are always just a little more magical. 😉

We’ll be starting 7.30pm slightly earlier that usual to do justice to both our weekly tradition and our closing band. So don’t be late. And just show up.

We overheard someone who’d just moved to Goa recently, talking about how they are in love with it’s slow living and freedom to be, but can no longer ignore the toll it takes on productivity and that inner fire to do things. Funny thing about freedom is that you end up becoming responsible for your time and how you want to use. Can get tricky.

With all that we’ve seen of the folks who come here to Clay, just show up. Wake up. Do your morning rituals and show up. As Rumi Said: “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”

The team’s been busy! Since we decided to move into a new journey as a community cafe we’ve been making it our focus to ensure we have more of a delicious spread for you to choose from. Our theme’s has been things we’d love and more importantly we can create the ABSOLUTE best version of. Versions that can transport you to back to when things were simple.

1- Our Bombay Classique - A slightly different take on that incredibly popular street favorite

2- A house-made golden and fluffy French Toast, served warm with butter and syrup and topped with caramelised bananas. Trust us it’s ridiculously good!

3- Parsi Style Eggs - Softly scrambled Akuri style spiced eggs, served with toasted poi. The Parsi’s got one, amongst many things right when it came to food, and those were their eggs. Phew!

4- The Shroom Hummus - Creamy hummus layered with sautéed mushrooms, chilli oil, feta and seed-mix, served with warm toast.

Because sometimes, all we need is simple.

Many moons ago we had the honor of hosting a meetup that was centred around this lovely book by ._pandit a prominent author and heritage activist well known for documenting architectural and cultural heritage of Goa. ‘Stories from Goan Houses’ launched by her just a few months ago is a gorgeous visual walkthrough of the legacy that continues to live on despite the rapid urbanisation of this village. A reminder that while the development might be inevitable, choosing to keep that part of Goa alive is up to us.

If you’re ever catching a break or just stopping by for a cup of coffee don’t forget to browse through our halls and look for this gem. We promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

Shout out to for being their official photographer and doing such a gorgeous job of capturing pure legacy.

Clay too resides within a 100+ year old villa that has raised 3-4 generations of a family and we’re proud to call it our home and we’re grateful to the family who entrusted us with it’s safekeeping.
