🐰 Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is a widespread, life-threatening virus ⚠️

Often called viral haemorrhagic disease, it is seen frequently in unvaccinated rabbits because it spreads quickly through direct and indirect contact with infected rabbits.

The best way to protect your pet is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. This not only protects them but also decreases the spread of disease.

If you have a pet rabbit and need to check if their vaccinations are up to date, or need to get them booked in, call the clinic and speak to a member of the team.

🐶 Everyone meet Rolo and Bella!! 🐶

2 recent BOAS surgeries that our Clinical Director David performed over the last 2-3weeks.
Both doggies had breathing issues assessed by David and found surgery was required to improve the quality of their lives.

Both dogs are in great form now and recovering from surgery! Plenty of TLC is given by our vets and nurses during recovery with lots of one on one attention❤️

To quote one owner “it’s like night and day” the instant improvement in the breathing, snoring and noise from their dog. 2 very happy dogos and families 🐾 YAY!

This little dog was referred to Arena for bladder stone surgery and our vet Rachael performed a very cool surgery to make this little doggy more comfortable! 👏

Urolithiasis is a urinary tract disease in which crystals or stones form within the urinary tract and cause irritation, pain and possibly blockage. These stones were very large and occupying nearly the entire bladder.

🐾 pic 1&2 shows abdominal x-rays which clearly show the 3 large bladder stones
🐾 pic 3 shows the inflamed bladder exteriorised and full of stones.
🐾 pic 4&5 shows the 3 culprits causing this doggy discomfort with a euro coin for scale.

This little dog is home now recovering well. She will be on a prescription food to help prevent stones forming again and to keep her bladder as healthy as possible.

Signs your dog may have urinary issues:
1.straining to urinate.
2.blood in the urine
3.frequent urination in small amounts and
4.abdominal pain

Since her first visit she learned how to sit, give the paw and lie down!

Today we visited a local Montessori school! Where clinical director David gave a talk to the kids about basic pet care and what vets do! 🐾

Our friendly furry friends Amber 🐈‍⬛ and Lola 🐶 went along too, just to be nosey and to get some cuddles.

Faye is our little miracle cat this week! She presented last week with hindlimb paralysis of both limbs but after spending some time with us receiving the treatment she needed she’s now back to her normal self, jumping up and down and walking as normal ❤️
