This is not your average yard job.

We are a busy, family-run trekking centre on the stunning west coast of Ireland, and we are looking for experienced, capable team members to join us for the summer season ☀️

If you love horses, thrive outdoors, and enjoy working with people, you will fit right in.

The Roles: Centre Support Manager, Trek Leaders

What the role involves:
🐎 Leading and assisting with beach and countryside treks
👩‍🏫 Teaching riders of all ages and abilities
⭐ Delivering a safe, professional, and memorable experience for every customer
🤝 Working as part of a close-knit, hardworking team

What we expect from you:
✔️ Proven experience leading treks and/or teaching riding
🐴 Confidence handling horses in a busy environment
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A genuine love of working with children and the public
❤️ High standards of horse care and welfare
🚶‍♀️ Energy and stamina, this is a physically demanding role, often 25,000 steps a day
💪 A positive, get-on-with-it attitude, be able to muck in and muck out!

Our ponies have all headed out to their off season homes for some well deserved R&R

We have availability for lessons or treks after school hours for the next couple of weeks

Beginner/novice riders: 1 hour sessions involving working on your position, rising trot, building confidence and trekking out

Intermediate/advanced riders: 1 hour sessions involving canter transitions, practising half seat and staying in line. This would be helping to work towards a Lake and Sandybanks canter trek or a beach gallop

🐴🐴Winter Pony Loans – gentle children’s ponies looking for cosy homes (Sept–June). 🐴🐴

We have a few kind, steady trekking ponies available on winter loan while our centre is closed. They’re sensible, sweet-natured types (Jake, Samson, Bonnie)—ideal for lead rein and for little riders who are comfortable in walk and trot. They love to be pampered.

Perfect for: families with pony-mad kids, or anyone who’d love a companion through the winter.

🌟What we’re offering:🌟

Safe, honest ponies used to children, traffic and farm life

Loan period: September to May/June

Tack can be provided where suitable

📌 - What we ask from you:

🐴 Experienced, pony-savvy home with secure grazing and shelter (stable or field shelter)

🐴 Daily care: feeding, turnout, mucking out, fresh water

🐴 Routine farrier, worming & basic vet care covered by the loanee

🐴 Children must ride with correct hats/boots and adult supervision

🐴 Simple loan agreement and a nominal fee

Sadly we experience high levels of wild camping in keel, disturbing nature as well making the place look like an unofficial campsite. The left behind rubbish, glass bottles, quilts, pillows and burnt grass from fires simply ruin the place. So sad to see the same thing happening again and again.

Say No to Camping on Dunes! Dunes are fragile ecosystems. Use designated camping areas and keep the beach beautiful.
