Rael is looking for a home again, please give him a share so that we can find him a loving family🙏🙏

Sadly, Rael’s owner has terminal cancer, and is currently receiving palliative care💔 After we had posted him for adoption back in March, his relatives kindly decided to keep Rael in the family. Unfortunately, they’ve since realised that they don’t really have the time to give him the life he deserves. So now we’re on a mission to find Rael a peaceful, loving home!

Rael is a gentle, super-sweet, 5-year-old Saluki boy who’s had his whole world turned upside-down recently. Rael will need a home with another friendly dog, as he absolutely loves canine company and really leans on it for reassurance. He’ll also need a secure garden, no cats, and a peaceful household with children aged 10+ (or a child-free home)🏡

This lovely lad can be a little shy at first, but give him a bit of time and he’ll be utterly devoted to you🥰 He’s house-trained, walks beautifully on the lead, and travels calmly in the car. Like most sighthounds, he enjoys his creature comforts, plenty of snoozing, and the odd burst of happy zoomies when the mood takes him😍

If you’re based anywhere in Ireland and can offer Rael a loving forever home, fill out our adoption form here:

For many people, the loss of a pet brings overwhelming grief, and research confirms this experience is real. Dogs are constant companions, present in daily routines, long walks, quiet evenings, and moments when words are not needed. When they are gone, the absence can feel just as painful as losing a close family member.

Experts explain that the brain processes the loss of a pet in the same way it processes other deep emotional bonds. People may struggle to sleep, lose focus, or feel a sudden emptiness in their home. Some replay final moments or question medical choices, while others feel the loss most in the small habits that no longer happen. These responses reflect how strong the human dog bond truly is.

What matters most is connection. Dogs offer loyalty, comfort, and unconditional love, and losing that bond can shake a person deeply. Grief does not follow a timeline, and there is no right way to mourn. Honoring their memory, speaking their name, and allowing space for healing can help keep the love present while moving forward.

Okay, we are REALLY panicking now – PLEASE HELP🚨 Roxy’s foster dad is going away this Friday, and this gorgeous girl will have nowhere to go😢 Please share far and wide so that we can find a new foster home for this sweet girl🙏🏡

Roxy is a 1-year-old Border Collie with a heart of gold💕 She didn’t get much care or socialisation early in life, so she can be nervous around new people at first. But once she feels safe, she turns into the biggest softie – affectionate, cuddly, and happiest snuggled up on the sofa with her person🥰

What Roxy really needs right now is peace and space where she can continue to grow and become the lovely pet she’s meant to be. We’re urgently looking for a quiet, rural foster home, ideally dog-free and cat-free, where she won’t be overwhelmed by busy walks or lots of strangers. She can get on well with dogs she knows, but for this stage of her journey, she needs to be the only pet so she can focus on relaxing and building confidence😇

We’re hoping to find a foster in County Clare or nearby (Limerick, West Tipp, North Kerry, West Offaly or South Galway), but we’re open to offers from experienced homes farther away. Please fill out our fostering form here:
https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=caw&method=online_form_html&formid=44

We know this is a tough ask (dog-free, cat-free AND rural), but we also know the right person must be out there somewhere. If you can’t foster, please share this post – it could be the share that saves this precious girl🙏😍
