What if … our little village won Ireland’s Tidiest Village ….?

We are in with a fair chance, but a lot of work is needed first!

Due to our excellent performance last year, the Dept of Rural & Community Development nominated us for Ireland's Best Kept Village. It’s an all island competition - both north & south.

We are in competition with 13 other villages. Adjudication will take place anonymously during the month of May.
That’s one months time!

We held our AGM last week & are ready to go. All we need is your support. Please do your bit outside your house or by participating in the weekly clean ups. All help and participation is much appreciated. More to follow 😊

Sligo County Council is partnering with Burrenbeo Trust and the Biodiversity Officers in Galway City, Galway County, Limerick, Meath, Offaly and Carlow be able to offer Hare’s Corners to landowners in these counties.

The Biodiversity Officer Programme is coordinated by The Heritage Council.

The Hare’s Corner initiative in 2025 will be funded through a combination of public and private sector funding, including the National Parks and Wildlife Service's Local Biodiversity Action Fund.

The Sligo County Agricultural Show, Riverstown are deeply saddened by the passing of Marie Jinks.

Marie has been a loyal volunteer at our County Show. She helped out with Poultry Section each year.

A true lady and will be deeply missed.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Marie’s beloved husband Danny, daughters Emer, Deirdre, Niamh and Siobhán, her grandchildren Lily, Fia, Ruairí, Naoise, Peadar, Logan, Aoibhin and Darragh, sons-in-law Tiffin Griffin (Emer), Pat Towey (Deirdre) and Alan Doyle (Siobhán). Deeply regretted by her brothers John, Micheál and Kieran, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Rest In Peace, Marie.

The Sligo County Agricultural Show, Riverstown are deeply saddened by the passing of Seamus Cawley. Seamus and his wife Patricia have been loyal sponsors and volunteers at our County Show.

A true gentleman and will be deeply missed.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Seamus’s beloved wife, Patricia as well as his brothers, Hugh, Michael and Martin, his sister, Rita and his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and relatives.
