All She Ever Wanted Was Love 💔

Daisy came into the care of NSPCA Wicklow through our Inspectors after being rescued from a very sad situation, where she had clearly been deprived of love and kindness.

Despite her tough past, this adorable little Pocket Bully is incredibly affectionate and trusting with people. She absolutely loves human attention and has the most gentle and loving personality. 

At 5 years old, she enjoys getting out and about on her walks - she can be a little enthusiastic on the lead at times, as she’s just so excited to explore. With continued training and gentle guidance, she is already showing wonderful progress.

One thing Daisy absolutely loves is her treats which makes training a lot of fun. She will continue to grow in confidence and discover all the simple joys that every dog deserves.❤️

Daisy would be best suited as the only pet in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention. She is looking for a family who will give her the caring and committed home she has always deserved.

With her sweet nature and loving personality, Daisy will make an incredibly loyal companion for the right home.❤️

Francis D Van Horn 🐱

The cutest love bug in town.

This handsome little chap absolutely adores cuddles from his favourite people. In fact, he loves them so much that he may even drool all over you with happiness!

Francis is a very sweet boy with a little bit of sass to keep you on your toes. He would be best suited to an adult-only home where he can enjoy plenty of love, attention and, of course, cuddles.

Francis is also currently on a weight-loss journey and is doing really well. He’s been making great progress, and we’re so proud of him!

Look at him.

Standing quietly in his kennel, watching the world go by.

Every day brings footsteps past his kennel. Every day he watches other dogs leave. During the day he gets to play with other dogs, staff and volunteers. And then the shelter goes quiet. It’s another night in his kennel 🥺

Jacob is a good boy. He loves his walks and walks great on the lead. He’s very clean in his kennel and he’s muzzle trained. He’s a clever boy and always willing to learn.

406 days ago Jacob arrived into the NSPCA with evidence of old infected pressure sores on back of his both hips. He had skin irritation on his paw, his ears were sore and he needed a dental. He had to have a lump removed. It’s been a lot.

We are looking for a female only household for Jacob. Although he plays with other dogs he will need to be the only dog in the home. An understanding owner will be important for Jacob to give him time to settle, provide consistency and make him feel safe and secure.

Please help us find Jacob a home. He’s waited too long and it’s his turn now.

A Special Foster Appeal For Fred: The Cat Who Was Shot Twice 💔

Fred is one of the most affectionate kitties you could ever meet. He adores being petted and simply being close to people. He’ll happily crawl into your lap, curl up and lie there purring away, completely content.

It’s hard to comprehend that someone deliberately aimed a pellet gun at this sweet boy and injured him not once, but twice. The appalling act of animal cruelty is simply beyond words. It’s heartbreaking 💔

Fred has undergone extensive surgery, but he is not out of the woods yet. He now needs a very special and experienced foster home where he can receive the ongoing care and support he needs.

🐱Fred requires:
• Daily physiotherapy
• Help with urinating
• Patience, care and plenty of love
• Someone who can give him the time and attention he needs to continue recovering.

The good news is that Fred has been doing well and is getting a little stronger every day. Now we need to find the right person to help him take the next steps in his recovery. Ideally, we are looking for a veterinary nurse or an experienced foster carer, particularly someone who has previously cared for cats requiring this level of support.

An Unbreakable Bunny Bond ❤️

Millicent arrived into the shelter with 4 tiny babies from a hoarding situation. She was the most wonderful mum, caring for them and keeping them all safe.

Throughout it all, there was one little bunny she was especially close to… Floofer 🐰

The two of them would spend their days cuddled up together, and when Floofer’s sisters were old enough to be weaned, they went off to foster homes while Floofer stayed with her mum 🫶🏻

Millicent is the quieter, more gentle and slightly shy one, while Floofer is her mum’s complete opposite, a curious, affectionate little nosy girl who loves to see what’s going on. They complement each other perfectly, and their bond is truly special 🥹

We would absolutely love for them to find a family who will let them continue their lives together, just as they’ve always been.

💚 Let’s Talk About Lurchers

Long legs. Big ears. Ridiculously soft faces. And enough personality to fill the sofa…

But what actually is a Lurcher?

Lurchers are a wonderful mix of sighthound and other breeds, which means every one is a little bit different, but they have one thing in common: they can make absolutely fantastic pets 🫶🏻

💛 Affectionate and loving
🩵 Wonderfully gentle and sensitive
🩶 Total sofa snuggler professionals
💜 Happy to have a good zoom around… followed by a very serious nap
❤️ Their Long noses come with an impressive talent for making you fall completely in love with them!

“But aren’t Lurchers crazy energetic?”

Well… they certainly can have a burst of speed, but many are equally happy stretching out on the sofa afterwards and enjoying the finer things in life like, comfy beds, tasty treats, gentle fusses and being near their people 🐶

Like all dogs, Lurchers have their own individual personalities and needs. Some love adventure, some are professional couch potatoes, and some are convinced they were born to be the star of your household.

Sadly our 📍Longford Lurchers are being overlooked and we really want to find them homes! If you’ve never considered a Lurcher before…Maybe it’s time to give one a second look 😊
