Rosie came in with a very suspicious nose… and we found FIVE grass seeds hiding in there 😳🌾

While she was under anaesthetic, we got her dental done too, so she left with a much happier nose and cleaner teeth

Very satisfying for us. Not so much for Rosie.

🐾 Meet little Bunny! 🐰🫶🏻

Bunny is only 2 months old and has already had quite the journey. She was found straying and wasn’t in the best way, but her lovely new pawrents took her in at around 5 weeks old, weighing just 500g 🥺 Safe to say she absolutely landed on her paws, because look at her now! 🥹

Bunny popped in to see us for her very first vaccine and is absolutely thriving. Her pawrents also went with our €99 Best Start Kitten Pack, which includes:

🐾 Primary vaccination course
🐾 Full nose-to-tail health check
🐾 3 months of worming treatment
🐾 3 months of flea & tick treatment
🐾 Microchip
🐾 Weight checks before parasite treatments

We have to say, the kitten & puppy packs really are so handy for getting all those important first bits looked after while they’re little 🤭

And of course, Bunny couldn’t come for her first vaccine without bringing her own little bunny along for moral support! We’re completely obsessed 🥹🫶🏻

POV: your mam is the Practice Director and you still don’t get special treatment 😂

Mr Cuddles broke one of his canine teeth, so today he found himself on the other side of the consult table for a dental.

He was brave.
He was handsome.
He was deeply unimpressed with the entire situation.

Now home, minus the offending tooth, and currently reviewing whether this constitutes a HR matter. 🐈‍⬛😂

We thought we were going to rehome Cruella. Cruella had other plans ❤️

We took this grumpy, crusty old lady in a few months ago and pretty quickly realised that with her age and medical needs, rehoming her probably wasn’t going to happen.

So Cruella became our practice cat.

She had the freedom to roam around the clinic but generally preferred lying on her bed judging everyone, only getting up when there was staff lunch worth stealing 😂

She was an absolute queen and we loved her. And judging by these photos, she might even have loved us back, although I’m sure she’d deny it.

This weekend we had to say goodbye when it was clear it was her time 💔

We’re heartbroken, but really happy that she got to spend her retirement warm, fed, spoiled and reluctantly surrounded by people who adored her.

Sleep well Cruella ❤️

12 weeks old. That’s it. That’s the post. 🥹

Archer popped in to see Mairead today for a weigh-in and his flea & worm treatment.

Look at that face 😭

Well, that’s one place to keep your Kong… 😳😂

This guy came in with a suspected foreign body, but wasn’t too keen on letting us have a proper look in his mouth while awake 😅

Once safely under anaesthetic, Aoife went to intubate him and discovered the culprit lodged at the back of his throat…

A whole Kong. 😳

Thankfully, the opening through the Kong meant he was still able to breathe despite where it had become lodged.

Aoife managed to pop it out and was, quite rightly, VERY pleased with herself 😂👏

Patient safe, Kong retrieved ❤️

Sadly, despite having an entire veterinary team present, not one person thought to video the moment.

Priorities, people 🙄😂

Ever wondered what our veterinary nurses actually do? 👀🐾

A lot more than you might think!

Here’s Yesha with the very handsome Saber, who popped in for a nurse appointment for his nail clip 💅🐶

Our nurses are a huge part of your pet’s care and you’ll find them doing everything from nurse clinics and post-op checks to blood sampling, monitoring anaesthetics, caring for our inpatients, taking X-rays, running lab work and approximately 400 other things before lunchtime 😂

Basically, if you’ve been in Raheny, there’s a very good chance one of our nurses has been involved in looking after your pet somewhere along the way 💚

We might have to show you a little more of what they get up to behind the scenes…

New job perks are pretty good around here 🥹🐶

Meet Ciara, our new graduate nurse, who has recently joined the Raheny team 💜

She’s settling in brilliantly and, as you can see, has already been handed some very important responsibilities 😂❤️

We’re delighted to have her with us. Welcome to Raheny, Ciara 🐾

Meet Marta 👋🐾

We’re delighted to welcome Marta to the Raheny Vets team.

Marta qualified in Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and has 18 years’ experience in small animal medicine and surgery. She also has an Advanced Postgraduate qualification in exotic animal medicine, with a particular interest in treating some of the more unusual members of the family 🐰🦎🦜🐢

As you can probably tell from the photos, exotics have been a big part of Marta’s veterinary career for many years!

And while she loves the weird and wonderful, she is very much a small animal vet too and is equally happy seeing your cats and dogs 🐶🐱

We’re so pleased to have her with us and can’t wait for more of you to meet her. 💚
