Do we say “That’s it, we’re done”? There’s only so much we can do. Maybe there isn’t a home for every dog out there. We have to be realistic.
People don’t want Pit Bulls. They get a bad rap. Demonised by some people. It doesn’t matter if they will make a great pet and deserve a loving home. If she was another breed we know she would have found a home by now.
So we have to admit Nelly has an uncertain future. Keeping her in kennels for the rest of her life is not feasible. It’s not about the money, we would find the money. Is that the life we wish for a one year old dog? A dog who has never hurt anyone but has been plenty hurt by humans in her young life. A dog that adores people and wants to be around people. Do we lock her in a kennel with minimal human contact for ever?
She is scared of other dogs and not good with cats. She is scared of strangers. She’s too excitable for small kids. She’s better suited to the country than the city. However she’s loving, affectionate, playful, house trained, spayed, vaccinated, smart, good in the car, happy and most of all she deserves a chance.
We’re sorry Nelly, we have really tried but it’s not looking good.
