We are so proud of our students who were recognised at the recent Wexford Garda Youth Awards which took place on Monday 18th May in the Wexford County Council buildings.

6th year student Valeriia Stepanenko was nominated by the school in recognition of her role as Student Equality Officer in the Irish Second Level-Students Union (ISSU) as well as her positive contribution to the community as a whole and her advocacy for equality at local and national level.

1st year student Luke Furrutter Sanders was nominated for an award by his mam to recognise the support that he has shown his family. Luke has consistently shown extreme maturity for his age and when asked on the night by MC Alan Corcoran what advice he’d give to other students, he responded with a simple, yet powerful “show kindness”.

Past pupil of RCS, Darragh Power, was also recognised on the night. Darragh sadly passed away in March of this year after a long-fought battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Darragh was nominated by his family to honour his amazing spirit and they said he was always the life and soul of their family.
The school is immensely proud of our students who were honoured on the night and delighted to see their achievements recognised during such a prestigious event as the Garda Youth Awards.

🎉✨ Our Final Assembly for 1st Years! ✨🎉
We celebrated our wonderful First Year students as they completed their final assembly of the year — and what a fantastic (and very quick!) year it has been!

We were delighted to recognise so many achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. Over half of our students earned 200+ positive points, a fantastic testament to their hard work, attitude, and kindness. Certificates, vouchers, and awards were presented to celebrate these successes, alongside their excellent attendance and commitment throughout the year. Kara, our Sixth Year Prefect, introduced herself today and will be working with our First Years next year. We still have our end-of-year dinner and a special surprise to look forward to! With summer assessments kicking off next week, it’s time to keep the momentum going, stay confident, and give it your all — best of luck 🌟
