When the show was over and done… the clean up was still left to do.

Chairman Brian Murphy & team set off on duty for the evening…. One of the helpers stood out 🤔🤔

Judge Andrew Gardner day wasn’t done as he joined the clear up team. Was a massive help clearing away jumps 👏🏼👏🏼

Great spirits from the show must have kept him around & the cup of tea and biscuits before setting off home.

Thank you Andrew for the support, after a day in the rain doing a top class job judging along with the rest of the judges. You continued for the next few hours and great work was complete. True spirit ☘️

Our Story

The IDHBA’s National Show - held annually - attracts and showcases the best of Irish Draught horses in Ireland with exhibitors coming from every corner of the country. Broodmares, foals and youngstock are shown in-hand on grass and have included the best of breeding and quality in recent years with Dublin and Balmoral Champions coming to Punchestown. In the all weather arenas horses can be seen under saddle in the ridden hunter, side saddle and performance classes.

The show attracts Irish and international visitors. Located at Punchestown since 2015 the show is easily accessible to local as well as international visitors and exhibitors. Entries, exhibitors and spectators have increased year on year since 2015, with 2018 being our biggest show to date with nearly 1,000 attendees on the day.

The 2019 Show takes place in Punchestown on Saturday 31st August.
