Dissecting is part of the canine predatory sequence and most dogs love it as it allows them to perform a natural and rewarding behaviour.
It will often be mentally enriching and tiring for the dog so it's a great way to provide this safe outlet when you can't walk them out.
This was a foam roller from a package I received but cardboard boxes or toys with stuffing can work too!
Just remember to supervise to make sure that nothing is ingested.
