💚🐾 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 🐾💚

Sometimes, the greatest comfort doesn't come from words, but from paws, purrs and unconditional love. ❤️

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we're celebrating the incredible ways animals can support our mental health and emotional wellbeing. 🐶🐱

Our pets offer us so much more than companionship.

They provide comfort on difficult days, help reduce feelings of stress and loneliness, give us a sense of purpose and routine, and encourage us to get outside, stay active and enjoy the little things in life. 🌿🐾

They don't judge, they don't ask questions, and sometimes simply having them by our side can make the world feel a little less overwhelming. 💕

But while our animals do so much to look after us, let's remember to look after the people around us, too. 💚

❤️ Be kind, always.
💬 Check in on friends, family and colleagues.
👂 Take the time to listen.
🤝 Remind someone they're not alone.
💚 Keep the conversations about mental health going.

Not everyone who is struggling will show it. Sometimes, the smallest gesture of kindness can make the biggest difference.

Let's continue to break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a world where nobody feels afraid to speak up or ask for help.

🐾 From all of us at Moate Veterinary Hospital, look after yourselves, look after each other, and remember, it's okay not to be okay. 💚

🐱 FOUND CAT – BALLYCUMBER / FERBANE ROAD 🐱

Does anyone recognise this handsome ginger-and-white boy? 🧡🤍

This entire male cat, approximately 1–1½ years old, has been straying around the Ballycumber / Ferbane Road area for over 7 days and is currently safe with the person who found him.

He is very calm, friendly and easily handled, is litter trained and appears to be well accustomed to being indoors, so we feel he may have a home somewhere and somebody could be missing him.

He also has quite distinctive ginger-and-white markings, which should help his owner identify him.

📍 Found: Ballycumber / Ferbane Road area
🐈 Male, entire
🎂 Approx. 1–1½ years old
🏠 Currently safe with finder

If you believe he may be yours, or you know where he belongs, please contact Moate Vet Hospital. Proof of ownership may be requested.

Please share, particularly with anyone living around Ballycumber, Ferbane and the surrounding areas, so we can hopefully get this lovely lad home. 🐾🧡

🇺🇸🐾 25 Years. We Remember.

Across the world, and here in Ireland, so many of us still remember exactly where we were when the news came through on September 11th, 2001.

We watched. We mourned. We have never forgotten.

Amid unimaginable devastation, search and rescue dogs and their handlers stepped into the rubble. They searched, they comforted, and they served, side by side. 🐾❤️‍🩹

Today, 25 years later, we remember every life lost, every person who answered the call, and the remarkable four-legged heroes who worked beside them.

Their courage. Their loyalty. Their service. Never forgotten. 🕯️🇺🇸

🦉💚 TRANSPORT SORTED! 💚🦉

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who rang, messaged, shared and offered to help us today. We were absolutely blown away by the response! 🥹💜

Our beautiful Barn Owl is now safely en route to receive the specialist care and rehabilitation it needs. 🦉🚗🌿

Today has also shown us just how valuable a local network of volunteer wildlife transporters could be. 🚗🐾

If you’d be willing to occasionally help transport injured or vulnerable wildlife to a rehabilitation centre, we’d love to hear from you! We hope to create a volunteer group that we can call on when another wild patient urgently needs a lift. 💚

📞 090 64 81963

Thank you again to everyone who stepped up today. One journey can make a huge difference to one little life. 🦉💚

🐾💗 A little midnight miracle! 💗🐾

This gorgeous mum arrived in labour during the night, but unfortunately things weren’t progressing as they should. After a quick assessment, an emergency C-section was needed to give mum and her puppies the best chance. 🏥✨

And look at the beautiful result… a whole bundle of tiny, fluffy lives! 🐶🖤🥰

Mum and her babies are now getting lots of rest, cuddles and TLC. 💕🐾

A huge well done to our amazing team for being there when they were needed most! 👏💙
