Most are indeed very safe and sane.. as well as super smooth! ..a ride that gives you confidence.. and then according to the level of your confidence they can be both super chill and as powerful as they come!

FEIF Webinar with Dr. Antonia Gabriel about “equine summer eczema and beyond - from prevention to therapy”

Tuesday 28th of April 2026
20:00 CET

Equine allergies represent a significant and often frustrating challenge for both veterinarians and horse owners. This talk explores the complex pathophysiology underlying allergic responses with particular emphasis on summer eczema in horses, highlighting current limitations in diagnostic approaches and how these gaps impact effective treatment strategies. Special attention is given to key contributing factors, including the immune system, the microbiome, and tissue-specific responses, offering a more integrative understanding of disease development, progression and chronic. Considering an improved understanding of equine allergies, combined with insights from state-of-the-art human allergy research, may enable the development of novel translational concepts for equine allergy treatment. Finally, new therapeutic and prophylactic approaches are discussed, with the aim of improving long-term management and enhancing the quality of life for horses affected by allergic conditions.

Everyone interested in the Icelandic Horse is welcome to join!

Let me introduce Ívar frá Þingeyrum. He is our "professor" here at Hestakot .. my highly valued teacher and coworker. He is a very sweet, layed back gelding with easy, clear and smooth tölt, steady trot with good suspension and super smooth and supple canter. He is quite well educated himself in various dressage exercises, and teaches professional riders as well as 2yr old kids and everyone in between!
