☀️🐾 Heatwave Reminder for Pet Owners 🐾☀️

With Ireland set to experience a heatwave over the next few days and temperatures expected to rise above 30°C in some areas, please take extra care of your animals.

💧 Ensure they have constant access to plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌳 Provide adequate shade and a cool place to rest throughout the day.
🚶‍♂️ Avoid walking dogs during the hottest hours, as roads and pavements can become hot enough to burn their paws.
🚗 Never leave animals in parked vehicles, even for a short time.
🐴 Keep a close eye on livestock and outdoor animals to ensure they are coping well with the heat.

A few simple precautions can make a huge difference and help keep our animals safe and comfortable during the hot weather.

🐶 Walk dogs early morning or later evening
🐾 Check pavements with your hand before walks
💧 Keep fresh water available all day
🐱 Make sure pets have cool shaded spots to rest
🚫 Never leave pets in cars — even for a few minutes
🧊 Frozen treats or damp towels can help them cool down

Some pets won’t show signs of overheating until it’s serious, so keep an eye out for heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, or confusion.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your furry pals a little extra care this week ❤️🐕🐈

🐾 Miss Pickles popped in this morning for her 3rd vaccination and microchip appointment! She was so excited to see James — and even after everything was done, she couldn’t stop following him around. Safe to say he’s made a new best friend! 💕🐶
