Just to clarify, there is no strangles present on our yard.
As a precaution, any horse or pony showing even mild symptoms was examined by two independent vets, and all have been fully cleared. Findings were minor and unrelated to strangles.
The health and welfare of our horses is our top priority, and we have clear protocols in place should we ever need to manage such a situation.
Itβs also worth remembering that this illness can arise at any yard at any time, so a supportive approach within the equestrian community is always important.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
To the equestrian professional that has started these rumours I'll take it as a compliment that you feel so threatened by our small yard π
I'm posting videos of the horses that have been accused of having strangles at the beach today, two of which have been seen by a vet last week for a mild cough which is common this time of year (as you can see no longer coughing)
I could ramble on but any horse with even the slightest cough that we would normally let it run it's course is being checked by professionals just to ensure the best care and early detection
