We had a large dog booked in today and received a call at the exact appointment time to cancel.

When our no show policy was explained we were told they were not aware of it, despite the policy being clearly pinned on our website which they had been on prior to booking.

We have now re uploaded our cancellation and no show policies again so there is absolutely no confusion going forward.

We were then told they would “give €20” and that would be all they would be paying towards the missed appointment. Just to be very clear. This is not pocket money work. This is not a hobby. This is our livelihood.

Appointments for large dogs weighing over 50kg require a huge block of the day to be cleared and prepared. When someone cancels at the exact appointment time that slot cannot be filled again. That income is simply gone.

We try very hard to be fair with our pricing and not increase costs for people given how difficult things are for everyone at the minute. At the moment the entire country is practically at a standstill over fuel costs and disruption, yet we have still not increased our collection and drop off prices because many of our clients rely on this service due to work commitments or lack of transport. We have made a conscious decision to absorb those costs ourselves to support our customers.

What we do expect in return is basic respect for appointment times and for our clearly stated cancellation policy.

Small businesses do not have a backup fund when people decide not to show up.

Policies are there to protect the survival of businesses like ours. They are not optional and they are not open to negotiation after the fact.

On a lighter note this is Cooper and he’s a very pretty boy💖

Appointment Times

Appointment times are scheduled to start at the booked time.
If your appointment is at 10am, please arrive between 9.50am and 9.55am so your dog’s groom can begin on time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened groom or, in some cases, the appointment being unable to go ahead.

Cancellations and No Shows

Unfortunately, due to an increasing number of last minute cancellations and no shows, the following policy is now in place.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a €20 cancellation fee.

Failure to attend an appointment without any prior contact will result in the full cost of the groom being due.

Please Note

We are very reasonable and fully understand that life happens and unexpected things can crop up. In these situations, please reach out to us as soon as possible and we will always do what we can to help.

We are a small business, and missed appointments have a significant impact on our ability to operate. These measures are necessary to allow us to keep our doors open and continue providing the best care for your dogs.

This policy is effective immediately, 18-12-2025.

All available at a fantastic yard that offers the very best care at affordable rates. The atmosphere is laid back easy going and inclusive and there is an indoor arena that is perfect for our horrible Irish weather. 😁

Our own boys are kept here and they are treated like absolute kings 👑🐎 She has our full recommendation and has gone above and beyond not only in the care of our horses but also in supporting and encouraging our continued education in equestrianism. 💯💖

The yard is based just outside Castlederg. 📍
