Summer months

I have been pushing hard for people to understand that if you wish to use my Kennels in peak holidays then you must trial your dog with me before the busy time starts.

Please understand that I run a small business and my regulars who have been with me for years will always come first.

Regards Orla

Just to let you know because my kennels is based on socialisation for dogs and for this to work I require all dogs to be neutered by the age of 1 and half.
Working with dogs that are not neutered can cause alot of worry & stress on my behalf as their reaction to other dogs is completely different to neutered dogs.
There is aggression to be the boss, constant hu***ng and not to mention marking their spot especially inside.

I understand that some people don't wish to neuter their dogs and that means my kennel environment is not suitable for your dog.

Appreciate your time in taking your time to read
Regards Orla

Can I advise anyone who might have a new pup or dog and wish to use Kennels over peak times of the year, Easter.. Summer.. Halloween and Christmas. It isn't fair on a new dog coming into a busy kennel. A dog should get plenty attention from me to adjust from home life to kennels and hense over the last few years I only take my regulars around these peak times.
I know people might be conscious of the cost but booking your dog in for one or two nights before a weeks holiday is a great way for your dog to get to know me and his /her new second home. Hope this helps

It’s the time of the year when harvest mites are active.

SYMPTOMS OF HARVEST MITES IN DOGS

Harvest mites may not sound like a serious health problem for your dog; however, if left untreated, your dog can develop a secondary bacterial infection. Some dogs are allergic to the fluid that the mites inject into their skin and this can cause severe irritation. Your dog will most likely itch his ears, between his toes, armpits, stomach, chest and chin.

If you notice your dog is itching constantly or you notice orange bumps or a red dusting on their skin, you should have your veterinarian check your dog over thoroughly.
