Legends Stud

Legends Stud Breeders of thoroughbreds, breaking, boarding, pedigree research and racehorse syndication. Legends Stud strives to breed and sell winners.

From a small number of mares we have been quiet successful in doing this. Every mare at Legends Stud that has had runners has bred winners. The colt foals sold by Legends Stud have all made a profit for their buyers as store horses. Legends Stud has also syndicated just 3 horses to race and two have won those being Midnight Socialite and Regal Obligation. Legends Stud is not out for a quick buck a

nd will always give any client an honest opinion on any aspect of our business with them. We are not a large stud and so focus on quality over quantity. Legends Stud is not a big name and that doesn't worry me as the goal is to do things honestly, quietly and right, and we know that by sticking to this, that continued and bigger success will follow. Please feel free to contact Legends Stud anytime if you feel you would like to do business or want some advice. Thank you in advance,

Darren.

At two in 1926, Scapa Flow won the Futurity and the United States Hotel Stakes. He finished second to Chance Shot, the 1927 Belmont Stakes winner, in the Saratoga Special Stakes and was third in the Hopeful. Scapa Flow was named the 1926 Champion Two Year Old C**t.

At three in 1927, he won the Bowling Brook Handicap. Scapa Flow finished ninth in the Kentucky Derby won by Whiskery and was fifth in the Preakness won by Bostonian.

At four in 1928, Scapa Flow finished second: to Champion Handicap Horse Mike Hall in the Dixie Handicap; to Rock Man in the Harford Handicap and to Osmand in the Toboggan Handicap. He was third: to Nimba and Chance Shot in the Metropolitan Handicap; to Dolan and Chance Shot in the Suburban Handicap; and to Canter and Helen’s Babe in the Philadelphia Handicap.

Scapa Flow was considered one of Man O’ War’s best sons. In August 1926, Morton Schwartz offered $100,000 to purchase Scapa Flow, but his owners refused to sell him at any price.

Sadly he broke his leg in the 1928 Brooklyn Handicap and was euthanized.
