NIGHT WISH’s daughter OH MARIE wins by 20 lengths in the Prix Barcelonnette at this afternoon for Mathieu Pittart. A fourth victory for the 4yo filly.

A short while later and the sires son IVALDI, trained by Paul Nicholls, went down narrowly in novice company at Ascot under a penalty for his win at Fontainebleau in March.

A debut winner at Umma House a couple weekends back, 4yo mare OMAHA WISH sold for £100,000 Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales this evening to Ryan Mahon & Dan Skelton.

She is the latest progeny from Night Wish’s first crop of just 34 foals to have joined a top-class stable in Britain.

ILE DE JERSEY, an unlucky final fence taller when well clear at Taunton on Thursday, is with Nicky Henderson, while IVALDI, an impressive first start winner in France last March, is in training at Ditcheat with Paul Nicholls.

🚨 First Irish point runner a winner for NIGHT WISH 🚨

Making her debut at Umma House for the Monbeg Stables team, OMAHA WISH made a successful debut.

From Night Wish’s first crop, she is out of the Listed Prix Finot runner-up Chattleya, and won in the hands of Rob James, finding plenty after having taken the lead before two out to defeat a mare who had previous race experience.

Making his second start, having been third at Chateaubriant last month, Jac Jumper broke his maiden in good style this afternoon at Dieppe, making all and showing a fine turn of foot in the home straight.

Trained by Francois Nicolle and out of a half-sister to the Imperial Cup winner Malaya, he is the first winner from the second crop by NIGHT WISH.

His stores earlier this year were well received by some astute judges, including Tessa Greatrex and Ben Pauling who paid €70,000 for the half-brother to the smart Kapard.

A third win of her career for OH MARIE. Always travelling well, NIGHT WISH’s daughter sauntered home to a nine-length win and her first victory over fences Hippodrome de Compiègne this afternoon.

A good day at Compiegne for progeny by stallions sons of Saint Des Saints, including 10 length winner Goliath du Rheu, a son of Castle du Berlais.

SAINTGODREL, a son of the Grade 1 performer Loumie, is the first and only son of Saint Des Saints at stud in Ireland.

Au rond de présentation, avant le Prix des Benjamins, Goliath du Rheu (Castle du Berlais) tirait l’argent de la poche comme le dit l’expression consacrée. Après une probante troisième place enregistrée dans le Prix d’Essai des Poulains, le représentant de Jacques et Patrice Détré et de la Team Spirit a démontré qu’il avait bien effectué les progrès escomptés. Attentiste, en cinquième position, se montrant appliqué dans ses sauts, il s’est rapproché, en face, puis est venu à hauteur de l’animateur Costa Rica (Morandi) dans le tournant final. La position de son jockey, Gaëtan Masure, traduisait alors d’évidentes ressources Entre les deux dernières haies, Goliath a pris l’avantage sur Costa Rica, sans puiser dans ses réserves, puis il s’est détaché pour finalement s’imposer de dix longueurs. Poulain estimé, Goliath du Rheu a "fait un truc" pour accélérer comme il l’a fait dans la montée finale. D’autant qu’il n’a pas le profil du compétiteur précoce ! Il devrait donc encore progresser avec le temps. Nous lui attribuons une JDG Jumping Star.
