An asymmetrical horse-surviving horse in the wild.
I want to share my observations through my equestrian journey. In simple words for every horse owner.
Horses are curved to varying degrees from birth. Injuries, improper training, atypical care (underline as appropriate) exacerbate the curvature. As a result, the horse's movements become biomechanically incorrect. This can lead to injury, the horse's lack of confidence in his movements, then in you, and finally to conflict behavior. More often than not, clogged muscles and lack of relaxation after riding can lead to gradually increasing pain.
Let's take a look at the first picture. That's Ted. He is completely crooked, but is still his owner's favorite horse.
After Ted, you can see my very exaggerated sketches of the muscles in action.
Tension in the muscles doesn't allow them to extend and flex the joints as well. And if the muscles aren't warmed up enough before work and Ted accidentally shifts sideways, there is the potential for even more stretching of the stretched muscle, leading to a tendon tear.
When working on straightening the horse, you will also be intentionally tearing tendons(a little). Only do this in a controlled and deliberate manner. This is called stretching. It can strengthen muscles and sometimes it can relax them. It always takes a lot of time and patience, doing all the movements slowly and gradually.
3. You can see how Ted loves his owner and try do his best through unpleasant movements. He cannot show his pain because he is an herbivore, prone to silence and patience. But there are some horses that are not so tolerant of pain. They are sometimes called "playful", "bold", "5 minutes on lunge".
But Ted had a good training and vet check. Now he capable to move with rider so easy. He wants to run together.
This was a good story, isn’t it?
You can see some samples of asymmetry. How muscles compensate for each other. There are 5 types of asymmetry, at least one your horse has. You can also take a photo of your horse and see them. Or show the photo to me to find them. There are also many ways to clarify exactly where these asymmetries come from. But that's for another time sometime.
But first you need to take seriously the question of feeding, walking and the company of your horse friend. Also inspect the tack very carefully: it must fit, be clean, and don't put it on a dirty horse. This can lead to scuffs on the horse. Pay attention to the rogs as well as the saddle, the wrong harness can be harmful.
And then you can develop your horse body with training ✨
I hope you find this monologue useful Written with a temperature of 39.1.
I hope you enjoy Ted🤗
