*UPDATE: Connie has a booking*

Connie is one of the Curragh litter we found weeks ago. She is about 14 weeks old now and a total sweetheart. All her brothers and sisters have gone to their new homes and poor Connie is left by herself. She is in temporary Foster locally to keep her occupied with new smells, sounds and new dogs. If you would like to meet her please text ;

Condor

Condor came to the shelter through no fault of his own when his owner was made homeless. He is 2 years old approximately and full of energy. Condor would need a secure garden where he could run and play all day as he is quite strong and would be best suited to a family with older children. If you would like to meet Condor, visiting is 2-4pm seven days a week, or call (045)522929 or text (087)6261412.

Poverty of the Soul
Yesterday evening we received a call about a kitten (not the one in this photo) dumped on the M7 between Kildare and Newbridge. The kitten was dead when we got there but our 4 volunteers (tired after a long day) spent 2 hours searching in case there were others. None were found so this tiny kitten did not even have the comfort of others in her final horrible hours.

To the person who dumped this kitten in such a dangerous place I want to assure you that she died thirsty, hungry and terrified. Mission accomplished. I try to be charitable when I can but today I have come up empty. You are a miserable excuse for a human being. Mind how you go. Karma never loses an address.

Newborn at home so the dog has to go. For those who give up their dogs when they have a baby, I'm posting this photo of a family whose 15-year-old Jack Russel Terrier is treated as one of the children (because he was their first child) and who is the protector of his two human brothers and sisters. Never use the excuse that you had to let your dog go because you have a baby in the family and the doctor advised you blah blah blah and other lame excuses. Never abandon your pets. They are family 😍

Willow finally got off. After many disappointments our beautiful kind and funny Willow was taken home by Sean and Ann this week. Left in by her original owners to be pts because they were afraid she would jump their fence. Taking her life ...... which is all any dog has was easier than ring any one of the plethora of hardware stores or fencing companies. This is why we do home visits. Sean and Ann can see what a lovely dog she is. May the three of you Live Long and Prosper. Thank you so much.

From Rags to Riches

Cairo. Our invisible dog..

Day in day out people walked past him without a second look.He would just go back into his bed and keep hoping for the best. A lovely volunteer called Claudia got to know him and took him home this weekend. Claudia could see what we saw. A noble soul filled with gentleness and love for everyone he meets. We already know Cairo will bring blessings and joy to Claudia’s home and we are so thankful to them for giving Ciaro his chance to shine at last.
