Wheatfield Prison Incredible People

We are blown away by the enduring kindness and effort of Jimmy, Alan, Caroline and the Crew at Wheatfield. Each year they not alone grow these plants to such a high standard, they care for them until we are ready to take them. They deliver them to us and help us get set up for our Open Day.now does it get any better than than? And why do they go through all that? Simply because they love animals. This is real love and committment in action. They don't have to bother with any of it. They have many many alternatives for the plants and many demands on their time. Yet they choose the animals every time. While here these wonderful people take the time to visit each dog and ask about their stories in the hope of finding a home for even one. It was Heaven doing its best work when these beautiful people first walked through our gate.

A big thank you to Dovita in Monasterevin ❤️🐾

We would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Polish shop Dovita in Monasterevin for their continued generosity to Kildare Animal Foundation.

Dovita have very kindly donated food to us on a number of occasions now, and as you can see from the photos, their donations are very popular with our dogs! 🐶❤️

Support like this means so much to us. Feeding and caring for all the animals at the shelter is a huge part of what we do every day, and these generous donations really do make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Dovita for continuing to think of our animals and support Kildare Animal Foundation. It is very much appreciated — especially by our four-legged residents! 🐾❤️

Bewley is a beautiful, gentle and incredibly affectionate 2-year-old girl who loves attention. Once she feels comfortable with you, she adores being close, soaking up all the rubs, pets and affection she can get. She has formed a particularly lovely bond with Tracy at the shelter, and it’s very clear just how much Bewley loves and trusts her. She can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but give her a little time and her sweet, loving nature soon begins to shine through. ❤️

And then there’s Bewley’s fun side! She absolutely loves getting out into the big field, stretching her legs and running through the long grass. She loves exploring, having fun and making the most of being outdoors. Soft toys are another firm favourite.

Bewley would love a patient, understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence, with a secure garden where she can safely enjoy being outdoors and, of course, have plenty of room for those much-loved zoomies. ❤️

Bewley will need a cat-free home.

We would dearly love to see this lovely girl find someone who will give her the security, patience and affection she deserves — and a home where she can finally belong. 🩷

Meet Ralphie ❤️

Ralphie is a gorgeous little Lurcher-cross puppy, around 3 months old, and he is an absolute sweetheart.

He’s a very friendly little boy who loves to play and is currently being cared for in a foster home.

For the past month, Ralphie has been living around another dog and cats and has been very comfortable with them — at the moment, he’s mostly interested in making friends and playing!

As Ralphie is in foster care, an appointment will be needed to meet him.

🐾 MEET PETER 🐾

Peter is a big-hearted boy with a wonderful nature who has been waiting far too long for someone to give him his chance. ❤️

Peter is 5 years old and, despite his long wait, he is always in great form. He absolutely adores people and thrives on company and attention. Give him a few gentle rubs and some affection, and he’ll happily settle beside you, soaking it all in.

He loves getting out for his walks and would benefit from a little more lead training. Peter will need a home with a secure garden, and he could live with a family with children over 10 years of age.

We would love nothing more than to see Peter finally experience life outside the shelter — with his own person or family, plenty of love, and a safe place to call home. ❤️
