Meet Coco 🐐
Coco is a pygmy goat who came into us last month with a sore tooth, which was affecting her eating.

🚨Please don't scroll to the last photo if you are squeamish in any way 🚨

During this visit, her owner had an inkling that coco might also be an expecting mammy, which was proven right by carrying out an abdominal ultrasound scan ❤️
We can't wait to meet your baby coco!

Recent digital amputation of the forelimb in a dairy cow. This lady presented following the onset of significant lameness.

The lameness here is associated with what's known as 'Horizontal sand cracks' - which can be the result of laminitis (inflammation of the laminate or inner layers of the hoof wall)

In the image you see the protrusion of pink fleshy looking material which is known as granulation tissue ( the body's attempt to repair itself and regenerate the broken down tissue of the hoof)
It is the pinching of this granulation tissue that is protruding that is the source of the pain and lameness that results.

The extent of the granulation here meant that this lady needed her affected digit amputated.

Calf with bloat (Swollen tummy).
Tube passed to stomach cannot make its way down all the way due to a partial blockage.
Surgery ( Rumenostomy ) done to relieve gas pressure while we treat partial blockage.
Surgery creates a vent from stomach through body wall to allow gas escape and relieves bloat.
Patient doing well after 24 hours - eating, drinking & no bloat.
Fingers crossed for a full recovery.
