It is with regret that we need to remind all dog owners once again to be very careful if they leave their dogs outside in the garden, even for only a short time.
Ballinasloe Horse Fair is held this year from 30th September to 7th October and is the main Fair of the year for the selling of puppies and dogs.
Probably with the best of intentions some rescues buy the dogs from these dealers so we can therefore expect an increase in numbers of animals as they know they have a ready market.
Whilst many of these dogs are bred by back street breeders and will not be vaccinated or microchipped, many of them are stolen from around the country for several weeks before the fair.
THESE DEALERS DO NOT WANT MICROCHIPPED DOGS so will abandon them when they check for a chip, your dog then has a chance of being returned to its owner.
So please be very aware that people with no morals or sympathy for your dog or your family will be watching for dogs left out in the garden whilst
You quickly do the school run. They will be over your garden wall and dog picked up in seconds.
We do not wish to alarm people but just advise you to be doubly careful for the next few weeks, we are sure you do not wish to line the pockets of these disgusting individuals.
