This beautiful organisation has grown from just an idea and our urge to help. We rescue, rehabilitate, re-train and re-home Ireland's forgotten horses and ponies. We are an unincorporated body with a committee of four members. We are a registered charity with the Charity Regulator. Our RCN number is 20205896. LHPR has also been granted charitable tax exemption with Revenue, CHY22652

Yesterday's patient. Jade was found to be non weight bearing on her right hind leg and appeared to be in a good lot of pain. We called our vet who arrived very quickly. Pain relief was administered and a poultice applied. She most likely had soft tissue damage and will be reassessed today. She was well behaved ❤️

Our welfare team recently removed Jade from her adopted home after we found her to be extremely overweight and severely lamanitic. She is making slow but steady progress in this regard.

🚨 Emergency Appeal 🚨

To make room for a horrendous cruelty case today, we urgently need emergency foster for two ponies.

They can go together or separate.

● 5 year old mare
● 3 1/2 year old gelding

Both friendly, easy to catch etc.
Up to date on vaccines, worming etc.

Urgent Appeal. Please can you help?

We urgently need to reduce numbers at our rescue centre for various reasons.

1) We need to carry out drainage works at our premises. These need to commence ASAP

2) We need to harrow fields, spray fields, re seed some areas etc.

Both of the above cant be done if we have animals on site.

Can you foster from now until August/September?

We cover cost of vet and farrier.
All our animals are up to date on vaccines.

Many are companion only !!!
