As Spring rolls into Summer, we welcome the long evenings, the bright mornings and the return of the summer shows.
Balmoral show marked the start of the Summer showing season for us, and provided a fantastic few days out with some of our younger stock, where they became acclimatised to the hustle and bustle of the show circuit. Our young sporthorse gelding, Cashelbay Valentine (Cappa Casanova x Cashelbay Esmeralda) benefitted greatly from his outing, placing 2nd in his class, and claiming the highest placed Traditional Irish Horse placement in his class. Outings such as these are a fantastic education for him, and he is learning more every time out. Cashelbay Mellow (Cashelbay Prince x Fredeiksminde Mellow II) was shown in hand on the Thursday placing second in a strong 4 year old and upwards mare class. Our other sport horse gelding, Cashelbay Matthew (Cashelbay Prince x Cashelbay Saphire) was unfortunately not the judges choice on the day, but he too gained invaluable showing experience.
Hot on the heels of Balmoral, came the first of the local agricultural shows of the summer circuit. Athenry Agricultural Show is our local show, and a show that we support every year, and it was a pleasure to meet up with everyone again. Cashelbay Mellow was not the judges choice on this occasion, but we wouldn’t let that dampen our spirits on such a fun bright day out.
We would like to congratulate all our fellow exhibitors on their achievements and thank all the organising committees of both Balmoral and Athenry for the hard work they put in to make sure shows such as these are the success that they are year in and year out.
Looking forward to seeing you all again at the ringside soon!
