Pancho’s been through a lot, but this brave 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier is on the road to recovery 💙🐾
After arriving to our referral team with a post-renal acute kidney injury caused by a urethral obstruction from urinary stones, Pancho needed urgent care. Through medical management and a surgical procedure to create a new urinary opening (perineal urethrostomy), it was possible to stabilise him and his kidney function has returned to normal.
Pancho’s recovery has been excellent, with a complete recovery and restoration of normal kidney function. He is now very happy at home.
Through it all, Pancho has been the sweetest, bravest boy. We’re so proud of how well he’s doing and greatful to be part of his journey back to health. 🐶✨

✨ Clinical Case ✨
Our patient, Archie, was diagnosed with a large soft tissue sarcoma located in an anatomically complex region, requiring advanced surgical planning.

🩺 Oncologic surgery performed:
▫️ Wide surgical excision
▫️ Intraoperative electrochemotherapy
▫️ Reconstructive skin flap closure

When anatomical constraints limit surgical margins, intraoperative electrochemotherapy becomes a critical tool to optimise local tumor control.

Through advanced surgical planning and extensive experience in electrochemotherapy, complex tumors in demanding anatomical locations can be managed with precision.

Outcome: optimal local control and excellent postoperative recovery. 💪🏻
Precision. Strategy. Oncology.

Precision care meets compassion 🐾⚡

Our veterinary oncology team offers electrochemotherapy (ECT) — a targeted cancer treatment that helps chemotherapy work directly inside tumor cells while minimizing impact on the rest of the body.
This means effective therapy, fewer side effects, and a better quality of life for your pet.

Every patient deserves advanced medicine and gentle care.

🔹 Case highlight – Megacolon in Toby 🔹
We are delighted to share the successful recovery of Toby, who recently underwent a subtotal colectomy at our referral centre.
👉 What is megacolon?
Megacolon is a condition where the colon becomes permanently dilated and loses its ability to contract effectively, leading to severe and recurrent constipation.
🔬 Treatment approach
Initial management is usually medical, including dietary modification, prokinetic agents, and laxatives. However, in cases where patients fail to respond adequately, surgical management (subtotal colectomy) is the recommended treatment. This procedure often results in a marked and long-term improvement in quality of life.
🐾 We are pleased to report Toby’s full recovery. Our thanks go to his referring veterinarian for entrusting us with his care, and to his dedicated owners for their commitment and support throughout his recovery.

🐶🔬 *Biliary Drainage Catheter Placement in a Canine Patient*

This patient was referred to us with signs of severe hepatopathy, secondary to a complete obstruction of the common bile duct at the level of the duodenal papilla.

We performed a biliary drainage catheter placement, allowing direct bile flow into the duodenum and relieving the obstruction. The procedure was uneventful, and the patient made a full recovery, with complete resolution of clinical signs and normalization of liver function.

This case highlights the value of advanced interventional techniques in managing complex hepatobiliary disorders in small animals.
