Last Monday’s Bank Holiday marked the final day of our Spring League 2026, incorporating the DAFM Horse and Pony Competitions with breeding recorded.

Despite the uncertain forecast, competitors, breeders, owners and supporters turned out in fantastic numbers, creating a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish. Thankfully, the weather held up and we enjoyed a great day of sport and competition.

These classes continue to play an important role in promoting recorded breeding, encouraging correct production, providing a competitive pathway for young horses and ponies, and strengthening the Western Region’s contribution to the sport.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, competed, volunteered and supported the event. Your enthusiasm and commitment made it a memorable conclusion to our Spring League.

We are also grateful for the continued support of the Breeding Grant Initiative under the National Breeding Services by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, delivered by Horse Sport Ireland.

Huge congratulations to our overall League Leader Aisling Stanford with her gorgeous pony Lahinch Korra

🌟 A Proud Day for Banner Equestrian Centre 🌟

We are absolutely delighted to see Banner Equestrian Centre featured in this fantastic write-up in The Irish Horse World following our recent RDS Working Hunter Pony Qualifier for the second year in a row.

It was wonderful to welcome such a strong entry of talented riders and ponies, and to see so many combinations qualify for Dublin. Congratulations to all the riders, owners, producers and supporters who took part and made the day such a success. 🐴🏆

A special congratulations to all the riders featured in the article, including Nancy Caffrey, Cian Greene, Eivie Kennedy and all the other qualifiers who showcased the exceptional standard of Working Hunter ponies on the day.

We are especially grateful to the Irish Pony Society for their continued trust and confidence in Banner Equestrian Centre as a venue for hosting these important qualifiers, and we are proud to work alongside IPS in supporting the future of pony sport.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our family, friends, officials, judges, stewards, volunteers, sponsors and helpers whose hard work, dedication and support made the event possible. These days simply could not happen without the incredible team behind the scenes, and we are very grateful for everything you do.

Finally, thank you to everyone who travelled to Banner Equestrian Centre and contributed to such a positive and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the day.

Congratulations again to all involved, and we wish all qualifiers the very best of luck in Dublin. 🍀

With thanks,
Noel & Simone Barry
