The ✨️modified parallel technique✨️ helps to remove some of the zygomatic arch interference over the maxillary 3rd and 4th premolars in cats, compared to the “traditional” bisecting angle technique.⁠

Size 2 film is placed intraorally. In this picture, we are trying to capture quadrant 1 premolars (106, 107, and 108) and molar (109); therefore, the upper edge of the film leans against quadrant 2. The lower edge of the film is positioned in the lingual aspect of the quadrant 4. The ET tube is placed on the non-exposure side of the film, and the ET tube tie is unsecured to allow deep intraoral film placement.⁠

The x-ray is then taken parallel to the plate.

Instruments should be kept sharp and true to their original design. Dental procedures are most effective when using sharp instruments because they reduce fatigue, improve deposit removal, save time and improve tactile sensitivity.⁠
⁠
The Wedge Sharpening Stone has a flat surface and a radius on each side to help restore a sharp cutting edge and preserve the original shape of your instruments.⁠
⁠
After sharpening your elevators and luxators, it is good practice to also hone the blade using our Sharpening and Honing Cone to remove any protrusions or lips on the instrument.⁠
⁠
🚨When sharpening, force should not be used – it will cause grooves to form in the stone damaging the stone and rendering it useless for sharpening as well as damaging the tip of the instrument.🚨⁠

When sharpening is finished, clean the stones by wiping them over with gauze swabs.⁠
