While we appreciate the response of the Garda Press office we feel the need to amend some inaccuracies.

The following is a verifiable chain of events.

8pm Our volunteer arrived at the premises in question. She waited one and a half hours for the owner to return. At 9.30pm she began looking for Garda assistance. Within 10 or 15 minutes the Garda arrived and provided assistance. Our 2 volunteers then arrived at the night vet. The Garda involved did not accompany our volunteers or attend this veterinary clinic in any capacity on Saturday 12th July 2025 nor was it necessary at the time. Clearly seeing this was a very serious case, the dog was seen very quickly. Our volunteers waited until she was settled on a drip and had a small meal. Our volunteers went home at 12.30am.

To the best of my knowledge Vet B was not in any contact until he rang the clinic on 15th July. We do not know this Vet or even his name. I received a call from the dog's owner on 15th stating he/she had been away and only realised the dog was missing that morning. I responded giving an update on the dogs condition and the circumstances surrounding her removal from the property. The owner felt frustrated at not knowing where the dog was and had their Vet and Solicitor ring the clinic prior to my conversation with him/her. Direct quote from this Vet report.

"Full bloods done ... no other abnormalities. Large appetite. Dog is very emaciated. Uncontrolled Diabetes unlikely to have caused this emaciated alone"

I find it equally unlikely that any discussion took place between Vet A and Vet B regarding this dogs suitability to leave veterinary care and return home.

We have texts and WhatsApp messages to verify this account of events as they unfolded. Again we say we are amending the records only in the interest of accuracy and not out of any sense of malice or mischief on our behalf.

This is not a Vendetta. We are just astounded that these events took place. We have had meaningful discussions with Gardai in County Kildare who are conducting their own enquiries despite the fact that the rescue did not even happen in this county. This is about one dog first and foremost and we must remember no one has been convicted of anything at this point. It is unhelpful for followers to speculate who and where. A number of other relevant parties are assisting with advice regarding procedures we did not need to know until now. We are satisfied that every effort is being made to have her returned to us. We are so grateful for all the response and support this dog is receiving. For now we simply have to wait in faith that they will be successful. Thank you so much everyone. We will of course keep you updated.

Our beautiful Buddy departed this world 2 days ago and we are absolutely devasted. An amazing dog, who was rescued by the Kildare Animal Foundation. He was left locked in a caravan for over a week so to survive he learnt how to open presses, bins and drink from the toilet!! A skill he would continue to use in our house!! But Buddy really came into his own when we moved from Dublin to Wexford where he became chief rat/ mouce catcher...a job we didnt know he could do before the move!!! He was so gentle with all the kids yet top dog with all the dogs. His howling with Mike, Jake and Zach was hilarious and the house is so quiet without him, the sofa is so bare and are hearts are broken.
Run free Buddy, and rest in peace. ###
