Halloween Top Tip - Keep Pets Indoors

On Halloween night, keep pets indoors to avoid them getting frightened by trick-or-treaters or fireworks.

With the door frequently opening for trick-or-treaters, it’s easy for pets to slip out.

National Black Cat Day 🖤

Black cats have long been symbols of good luck, love, and magic in various cultures around the world.

In Ireland it was considered lucky to have a black cat cross your path, especially on New Year's Eve; if a black cat came into the house on Christmas Night the inhabitants would have great luck for the coming year.

Today, we celebrate these mysterious, elegant, and utterly charming feline friends.

Halloween Top Tip - Keep Halloween Treats Out of Reach

Chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free sweets), and some nuts are toxic to pets. Ensure all Halloween treats are kept well out of reach.

Have the contact information for your vet or an emergency pet clinic handy in case your pet accidentally ingests something harmful.

Halloween Top Tip - Dealing with anxiety

As Halloween night approaches, loud noises such as fireworks and bangers can cause stress and anxiety in your pet. A quiet, secure room is ideal, especially if your pet is anxious.

If your pet gets overly anxious, talk to our team to discuss some additional preventative measures such as medication that can help!

Halloween Top Tip - Be cautious with pet costumes.

If you plan on dressing your pet in costume, choose one that suits your pet's tolerance. Avoid masks and hats that may cause discomfort, and keep costumes minimal.

Ensure the costume is comfortable, allows free movement, and has no chewable parts. If your pet shows signs of discomfort—like folded ears, sideways eyes, or a tucked tail—remove the costume immediately.
