From 1st September 2025, I will no longer be grooming large dogs and there will also be a small ā¬5 increase to all of my grooming packages. This is unfortunately due to rising costs such an insurance, electricity, grooming products, equipment maintenance etc. I havenāt made any changes to my prices since 2023, and Iāve done my best to keep things steady for as long as possible.

1ļøā£ PRE-PAYMENT
When booking an appointment, pre-payment is needed in order to confirm your appointment. Unfortunately due to the number of no shows/last minute cancellations, Iāve had to implement this as my business has been severely affected.
2ļøā£ NO SHOW
Unfortunately no shows will not be refunded.
3ļøā£ LATE ARRIVAL
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, unfortunately your appointment will be treated as a no show, and therefore you will not be refunded. As my appointments are back-to-back, I cannot groom your dog if you are more than 10 minutes late.
4ļøā£ CANCELLATION
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations over 24 hours will receive a full refund. Cancellations under 24 hours will not be refunded.
5ļøā£ LATE COLLECTION
Failure to collect your dog within 10 minutes of the given collection time will result in a ā¬10 late fee. There will be an additional ā¬5 late fee every 10 minutes after that. I pride myself on offering a one-to-one dog grooming service. This means that I work by appointment only and Iām unable to hold dogs.
6ļøā£ APPOINTMENT CHANGE
If you wish to make a change to your appointment (for example changing from a full groom to a mini groom) you must give a minimum of 24 hours notice. Changes within 24 hours will result in you having to pay for the original appointment (ie the full groom).
7ļøā£ FLEAS
If fleas are found on your dog, the groom will be terminated and you will be contacted for collection immediately. A refund will not be given.
8ļøā£ AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR
Please be honest when booking an appointment in regards to your dogs temperament and grooming history. I work alone so for safety reasons I cannot groom aggressive dogs.

Hi, Iām Zoe and this is my story. I never thought at the age of 21 I would be running my own business as well as completing an Animal Science Bachelors Degree in UCD.
My Younger Years
Iāve had a passion for animals my whole life. Since I was little Iāve wanted to become a vet. My mom and dad talk about how I used to have a āvet practiceā in my bedroom. I would perform surgeries on each animal, cutting them open with a scissors and drawing red marker on them pretending it was blood, I would them stitch them back up, bandage them and made sure they got their medicine, food and water, and a good nightās rest.
I grew up with all sorts of animals from parrots, turtles, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and horses to name a few, owning these animals have only made my decision easier to want a career with animals more. Iām also an avid horse rider who has competed my own ponies and horses since the age of 5. I actaully spent the summer of 2017 working with horses in an Olympic dressage yard in Essex, UK. Iāve also competed for Ireland in dog agility with my Miniature Australian Shepherd in the Open Junior Agility Championships in 2014 and 2015 and also in Crufts in 2015.
What made me the person I am today
My goal through school was to work hard and get the points I needed to become a vet. 2016, my Leaving Certificate year came around and a lot of personal stuff happened- I let the ball drop. After receiving no university course offers that I wanted, I considered doing a Post Leaving Certificate Course (PLC). Up until this point in my life I always thought I was above a PLC, because I just knew I was going to get the points I needed the traditional way and that was it, I didnāt have a backup plan. What a mistake I made, because the PLC was one of the best things that I have ever done. I pushed myself and worked hard everyday to get distinctions in every module of the course including dog grooming. My teachers were amazing, they inspired me to work hard and not to give up. I did lots of work experience and I also completed a Canine First Responder Course, which means Iām now qualified in Canine First Aid.
Then finally, on a nice summerās day in July 2017, I received a letter from UCD offering me a place in their Animal Science Bachelors Degree course and I happily accepted. After this I began thinking of the career I really wanted, I knew it had to be in the animal industry but, I wasnāt so sure I wanted to become a vet anymore. Lots of ideas were buzzing around my head until it hit me that I loved dog grooming and that I was going to set up my own business.
Fast forward to September 2017, I arrived home from England and began the first semester of my four year dream course in UCD. With the money I had saved up over the summer, I put in all the dog grooming equipment orders I needed. I also sorted out the necessary insurance. And on Friday 22nd September, I officially opened up Dirty Beasts Dog Grooming. That weekend I welcomed my first customers and I knew then I had made the right decision for me.
The Future
Since starting Animal Science in UCD, I have really taken a liking to the animal nutrition modules. I have always had a keen interest in it and anyone who has ever talked to me about it knows I genuinely love it. So after I finish college I plan on continuing to groom, I would also like to expand the business so I can offer my clients Doggie Day Care and Dog Boarding. Long term, I would absolutely love to do something in animal nutrition, so far I havenāt decided exactly what but I know it will come to me just like the idea to open up Dirty Beasts Dog Grooming did.
