Karley 💕🐾 knows Fridays are all about her with a pampering session after a fun-filled day with the dog walker 😀 She gets three special washes . 1- deep cleansing to remove all mud 2- peppermint purify to clean coat 3- deep moisturising shampoo followed by little conditioner . And to finish, she gets fluffed up, nails done, and eyes cleaned 🐾

Always love having Bonnie in , newfies are one of my favourite breeds . I have been grooming her since she was a pup and she steps into bath and onto table with ease.

Bonnie is a Newfoundland

A Newfoundland dog is a large, powerful working breed known for its gentle temperament, strength, and exceptional swimming ability.

They have a thick water-resistant double coat, webbed feet, and a calm, steady disposition. They are often referred to as “gentle giants” because of their sweet, patient nature.

They originate from Newfoundland an island off the east coast of Canada and were mostly used for water-based work.
Water rescue , helping fishermen and also pulling carts

Grooming can take up to 3/4hrs depending on the condition of the coat

First we blast and brush out and loose dead hair

We then wash twice . 1st wash will remove any heavy dirt and 2nd wash will nourish the coat. Have to make sure to get through thick double coat down to the skin. Finish with conditioner and be sure to rinse thoroughly

Bonnie was then blasted in the bath to remove the heavy water before been moved to the table

Use a high velocity dryer we dry in sections using and slicker brush to remove any dead hair and tangles
Must make sure to dry fullly to avoid any hotspots

Once dry we use an undercoat rake to remove any loose hair , trim around feet , chest and bum .

Finish off with nails and ears . Paw and nose balm 🐾

It’s a long process so we always ensure to give her plenty of breaks 😊
