🏆 What a journey! 🏆

Huge congratulations to Ava, who took 2nd place in the Junior Individual at her very first outing at the Tattersalls Pony Championships with her pony, Bronagh.

When it comes to resilience, this rider has it in buckets! 💪

Ava’s journey with her pony, Bronagh, certainly hasn’t been easy. Bronagh arrived very uncomfortable, highly anxious and with significant behavioural issues. Her rideability was extremely difficult .
Ava had just become Bronagh new owner when she came to me.

The journey has been about helping Ava understand Bronagh, developing her own awareness, feel and confidence, and learning to become a true partner to her pony.

Ava and her family committed to following my coaching programme for over a year, trusting the process and staying committed even when progress wasn’t always easy to see.

Bronagh’s welfare has always been front and centre. There were no quick fixes and no rushing the process — just listening, understanding, patience and doing what was right for the pony and the partnership.

Having the right people on this journey is so important, including Niamh Fitzpatrick of Equine Therapies Ireland who has played a huge part in helping Bronagh physically and emotionally.

Niamh Martin from Equine Smiles Dentistry identified an issue that Bronagh had been dealing with for years. Addressing this allowed Bronagh’s comfort to improve and, over time, the contact between Ava and Bronagh to improve.

Having the right people on this journey and everyone to have animal welfare front and centre.

It shows what can happen when you put the pony first, support the rider, build trust and have a team who truly believes in the journey.

A huge well done to Ava, her parents and everyone involved in Bronagh’s journey.

It really does take a village. 🐴❤️

Why not try a pole clinic?
Using pole work, with the option of no jumping effort, you’ll have space to focus on your horse’s balance, rhythm, and responsiveness..

Do you find your horse reacting or resisting, leaving you with the feeling of rushing, pulling, bracing, leaving you vulnerable and your contact gone ?

Do you find yourself with the feeling of "not fit enough "when introducing canter or jumping — even though it’s not really about fitness?
Often this comes from nervousness, fear, or blocking your body, which in turn your horse will naturally react to and affect their way of going.

This clinic gives you space to take a breath, rebuild confidence, and refine your position with step by step guidance.

👉If you’re returning to riding, rebuilding confidence, or wanting to improve balance and control without pressure, this session is for you.

👉The clinic begins on the flat, spending time working through a variety of pole exercises designed to help your horse become more supple, balanced, and prepared for jumping.

👉Jumping is always an option on the day and is guided by what feels right for you and your horse.
