We had a great day out last Thursday attending Joseph O Brien’s yard in Kilkenny 🐎 Joseph gave us a full tour of his facilities which was a great experience, we also attended Minella Racing outside Clonmel which was a previous home to Grand National winner Minella Times and Gold Cup winner Minella Indo 🏆 thanks again to and for a great day 🐎

‼️Stable Visit to Joseph O Brien’s Yard‼️ We are delighted to announce that we are planning a stable visit to Joseph O’ Briens yard in Kilkenny between the middle and end of February. This is a brilliant opportunity to get up close to horses such as Banbridge and Home By The Lee, both Grade 1 winners at Christmas, along with multiple Group winners on the Flat too in 2024. Joseph was also champion jockey himself in Ireland and England during his own riding career before setting out on training. This will be a great day out so please respond to the poll on our story so we can get a rough estimate on numbers 🐎🐎

Fantastic morning yesterday at Paddy Twomey’s yard in Golden, Co. Tipperary. We got the opportunity to go around the yard with Paddy, see his state of the art facilities, the horses exercising and we got up close to some potential classic contenders for the upcoming flat season 🐎 Many thanks to paddy and all his staff for being so accommodating of us. A great way to round off what has been a hugely successful year for the society and we would like to thank all our members for attending our many events and we will see you all in September! 🐎🐎

Stable tour to Grand National and multiple Grade 1 winning trainer Henry de Bromhead – Henry became the first trainer to win the ‘Holy Trinity’ of the Cheltenham Festival in 2021 when he won the Champion Hurdle, the Champion Chase and the Gold Cup… no better yard visit before our trip to Cheltenham in a few weeks! Times still to be confirmed with Henrys yard but leaving at approx. 9am and returning at approx. 3pm – please check these times on our Instagram or email us [email protected] before the event. - 2 days racing Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th
- Cost tbc but should be no more than €500 for accommodation, bus and tickets

❗️Trip to Coolmore Stud and Clonmel Races ❗️
We are delighted to say that next Thursday (17th November) we are going on another trip visiting coolmore stud in Fethard Co.Tipperary which is their headquarters and clonmel races on their biggest day of the year for the Clonmel Oil Chase. At coolmore we will get an insight into the biggest and most successful breeding operation worldwide and this once in a lifetime opportunity is not one to be missed! After our tour of coolmore we will be headed for Clonmel to take in a fantastic days racing. Should be a great day! 🐎 The cost of the trip is €12 which includes bus , coolmore tour , race ticket and race card. We will be leaving the Western Gateway building at 8.30am and returning approx 5.30pm. Hope to see all new & old members! 🐎 Link for tickets in bio

Student Derby Tickets - First Come, First Served!!

The Derby is next Wednesday 26th October at the Curragh Racecourse! Bus leaving UCC at 9:30am outside WGB, back at approx 7:30pm.

Tickets are €12 which includes bus and entry ticket to the Curragh. 50 places available on the trip - first 50 payments will be accepted through link in our bio so don’t miss out!

UCC have made us aware of a problem with TicketSolve so please pay using a Revolut card. You will need your confirmation email and your Student ID to board the bus.

New and old members welcome!! Come along and join us for a great day out and the opportunity to meet others interested in racing from other Irish universities and students all across Europe!!

Next Wednesday the 26th October is the Student Derby in the curragh! Bus to and from the curragh from UCC and raceday tickets are €12 and will be on sale tomorrow first come first served 🐎 We will be leaving UCC at 9:30am next Wednesday and returning at approx 7.30pm, the student derby will be the last race of the day where our own Aine will be representing UCC! All members new and old welcome on what is sure to be a fantastic day out with students from all over the world present at the curragh!
