*Back after Maternity Leave 12th January*
Hey guys,
This post was originally just to inform you when I'm returning, but it turned into a bit of a life update as all my posts seem to. I'm great at making a short story long, very long. 🤣
I hope you all are having a fantastic Xmas so far. I will be back taking bookings from the 12th of January after an amazing maternity leave that I, and my little family, will be eternally grateful for.
So much has happened this year that I haven't updated you guys on. We welcomed our final little puzzle piece, Gabrielle, into the world on the 7th of July, and she has been nothing short of amazing. We are all besotted by her, her human & doggo siblings included. (Well, not all, Rhonda the cat has been less than enamoured by this latest nuisance, but she's coping). 🤣
Unfortunately, the following week after Gabrielle was born, our handsome little man Dwaynie's (the frenchie) spleen burst, and we had to say goodbye a few days later. He is still breaking our hearts to this day. He was an absolute nuisance at times and a bully to his dog brother Dave, an ally to his cat sister (that summed him up). But he was the kid's greatest protector. Delighted, he made it to see his baby sister. He loved our kids so bloody much. He would have given his life for any of them. I'm pretty sure he was the love of Pierre's life (you all saw the photos of them two over the years - Jack and Rose from the Titanic had nothing on them 🤣). I'll happily take a close second. He was the most efficient crumb hoover, too. Our vacuum cleaner can't handle what he did. Fun fact our car, and our neighbours' cars have also been broken into twice since he left us (that wouldn't have happened if he was on duty - also that's probably not a fun fact but sure you have to laugh).
I hope to see some familiar faces & doggos in the New Year. I'm not going to lie it is always so daunting as a self-employed person coming back after Maternity Leave, wondering what you will be coming back to. I've been so lucky to have so many of my customers who have been with me since day one (12 years plus) and through two pregnancies. I've seldom opened my books to new customers and never had to advertise. I don't know how many groomers are lucky enough to say that. And I genuinely do realise how lucky I am. Especially with my efficiency when it comes to answering phones (you know by now my hatred of phone calls, Im a messaging girl🤣) Fun fact, I had to rang an ambulance for some one during the week. When my friend heard what I had done, she was absolutely shocked and relieved that I had actually made an actual phone call she always wondered what would happen in that situation. Also, yet again, that's probably not a fun fact. I have spent the last 6 months talking mostly to kids 7 years and under, so I really must brush up on my idea of a fun fact....
Anyhow, I'm not sure if you or anyone will see this with what way the Facebook algorithm is going. If you do see it, could you give this post a little like, or a photo of all the puppers I've been missing if you like. Thanks a mill.
I've popped up a small few photos of our updated little family and a few of Dwaynie with his sisters before he left us. Hope you all have a great Xmas and the happiest of New Years. Thinking of all those who have lost their puppers and other family members throughout the year. Thinking especially of the little senior puppers, I've had the privilege of grooming that left us this year and their families. I warned Dwaynie before he went for his final sleep to behave, so he should be nice to all those puppers he barked at through the window over the years. If not, Gabby and Miley will just overcompensate for his lack of manners 😃 ❤️
Merry Xmas & Best Wishes for 2026
