Well it's our final goodbye to Collon Animal Sanctuary. It's been an extremely emotional day, filled with pride and happiness for all the wonderful animals we have been lucky enough to meet and help down through the years. Of course our hearts are very heavy tonight as we closed our gates. We thank each and every one of you for your kind words and support over the years. We will deeply

miss our interactions with our wonderful supporters and the beautiful animals that they have adopted over the last 37 years. Goodnight, stay safe and always be kind to animals 🐾💜

Update Tuesday 17th June;
Louth SPCA have been out searching and spoken to a lady in the Equestrian Centre who said they would contact them if they seen the cat again. Please if you are local to the area try secure this cat and bring to the vet or contact Louth Spca 🐾 🐈

We have been asked to share this message, if there is anyone local who owns the cat or is in a position to try help get them to a vet. From the photos received the poor thing looks in a bad way.

"Monday 16th June.
We were visiting in Carlingford today and came across this very sick looking skinny cat. I'd say tumour on side of face also. I went to go get a box in order to get the poor thing to a vet. When I came back my friend had lost sight but it seems to have gone into Carlingford Lough Equestrian Centre just next to Ghan House.
The gate was locked so we couldn't check for sure. I'm just wondering if anyone is in this area that could check as we live a fair bit away.
The cat definitely needs to be seen by a vet, would hate to think the poor thing is suffering.
Thank you"

***UPDATE- owner found****

This young beautiful boy was admitted to our clinic this afternoon after being involved in the road traffic accident at Cluskeys Pub on the Ardee Road. Sadly he is not microchipped. Unfortunately he suffered serious injuries and will need advanced treatment so we ask the owner to contact us ASAP via email : [email protected]

This stunner whose name is Biscuit, arrived yesterday afternoon as a stray from Drogheda. She will be available for rehoming on 04/05/2025 unless her owner comes to reclaim her.

Her finder was as charmed by her sweet nature as we are, and had this to say about her "She's a beauty with such a lovely nature. Was great with our dog, didn't react to our cat and is good around children, mine is 8 and I met kids the same age and younger when I was bringer her home."

If you can offer a secure, loving indoor home with a spot on the couch to this gem of a dog, please get in touch on 0429324140 or [email protected].
