This cutie pie was found last week, emaciated and wandering alone on the road. Luckily he was rescued by a member of the public and brought into their local veterinary clinic.

A huge thank you to everyone at DKD veterinary . JOHN DIXON who gave this fox the treatment and medication he needed. It took a few days of round the clock care here at the rescue but he is getting stronger each day.

🦉 One of today’s arrivals is a very young long‑eared owlet.
Young long‑eared owls go through a stage known as branching, where they leave the nest and explore the surrounding branches. At this time, their parents are still nearby and continue to feed them. Occasionally, owlets can end up on the ground but they are often perfectly healthy and just need a helping hand back into the tree.

This little one, however, was not so lucky.
The owlet was rescued by Rebecca in rescue Mayo after being found grounded. On examination, Rebecca discovered that the owlet was very emaciated and had clearly not been fed for some time. Rebecca cared for the owlet overnight, ensuring they were safe and warm.
Today, one of our incredible team members, Pamela Bartley collected the owlet in Claremorris and travelled to Ennis, where she met another member of our teamShane Kerwin, who then brought the owlet into care
The owlet will now remain in our care until they are strong and old enough to be soft‑released back into the wild, where they belong. 💚
Thank you to everyone involved in helping this little one get a second chance.

This lovely fledgling would like to say a huge thank you. To their finder who rescued her and drove to meet the lovely transport volunteer and to the transporter who collected them and another bird and brought them to the rescue.
Thanks to this generosity the fledgling is recieving care for their concussion and finding their feet again.

If you would like to help and become a transport volunteer please email the page. We are looking for drivers mainly in Mayo but also in Sligo and Roscommon. As little as one transport a month makes a huge difference.
