We are running a comprehensive health screening for the older dog. It will involve blood biochemistry to check kidney and liver function in the older dog and check readings against the normal range. This involves taking a blood sample and processing it through our blood biochemistry machine. The owner should take a urine and faecal sample with their dog also. We can perform urinalysis to further check kidney function. The faecal sample can be run through our parasitology machine to check for the full variety of worms.
These screening tests can pick up a variety of diseases early on such as diabetes, failing kidneys and liver diseases in your healthy aged dogs so lifestyle changes or medication can be implemented early to control or delay the onset of these problems.
