The Belgian Shepherd🐕
There are four variations of Belgian
Shepherd which are;
Malinois, 1st photo
Groenendael, 2nd photo
Laekenois, 3rd photo
Tervuren, 4th photo
These dogs originate from Belgium there
are of medium size and are bred for
herding. The difference in the varieties is
based on the coat type the Malinois is short
haired fawn in colour with black overlay and black mask, the Groenendael
is black and long haired, the Laekenois is
rough haired fawn in colour with black overlay and black mask and the Tervuren is long haired fawn or grey in colour with black overlay and black mask.
Temperament
Belgian Shepherds are highly intelligent
they need a lot of mental stimulation they
are are also sensitive and alert. They are
highly trainable and hard working dogs
they have a strong guarding instinct as
they were breed to herd. They require training and socialisation from an early age.
Health
There are overall a relative healthy breed.
But like all breeds they have illnes such as hip and elbow dysplasia, skin problems, skin allergies and epilepsy. Life expectancy is 12 to 14 years.

Dogs 60–66 cm (24–26 in)
Bi***es 56–62 cm (22–24 in)
Weight
Dogs ≈ 25–30 kg (55–66 lb)
Bi***es ≈ 20–25 kg (44–55 lb)
The Fédération Cynologique Internationale
(FC) recognise the Belgian Shepherd as a
single breed with four varieties. The breed should be a finely proportioned combining elegance and power. Squarely built with strong muscle. Though the harmony of its shape and its high head carriage it should give the impression of elegant strength.
