Update: he has found a home 😃

This lovely 2-year-old male cat is looking for a home. He is neutered and used to being indoors most of the time.

Unfortunately for him, there is another cat in the household who has taken a dislike to him, so this boy has to go further afield.

Ever wondered what’s really going on in your cat’s head? From midnight zoomies to sudden bouts of aggression, cats have a unique way of expressing themselves, often in ways we might miss. In today’s fast-paced world, they can struggle with stress and anxiety, which can show up as hiding, being fearful of visitors, or obsessive behaviour.

In this talk, Alice Chau Ginguene will help decode your cat’s psychology, by drawing from their evolutionary history, facial expressions and body language. She’ll reveal how understanding their behaviour can foster a happier, healthier relationship between you and your cat, and will introduce cat training as a tool for deeper communication.

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!

Alice Chau-Ginguene is a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with 15 years of experience specialising in cat behaviour. Passionate about making animal science accessible and engaging, she is dedicated to enhancing the enjoyment between cats and humans, and improving feline mental health. Through her private practice Alice supports cat lovers worldwide. Her expertise and insights have made her a regular feature in media across Ireland, the U.S., and beyond, where she continues to advocate for better understanding and care of our feline companions.

Our Story

.Cuibhreann Cattery is a small, purpose built, cat only boarding facility, located in peaceful surroundings near Callan, Kilkenny. It is built to the Feline Advisory Bureaus specifications. The house and runs have been designed to provide maximum interest and comfort for the cats. There are different levels such as window shelves, which the cats love sitting on to look out, chairs, boulders, scratching logs etc. Each house is fully insulated and heated, making them very warm and cosy

Each cat has their own house (4ft x 4ft x 5ft high) and each house has its own individual run (4ft x 6ft x 6ft) so up to 3 cats from the same family could share. The runs are totally wired around and there is a fully wired security corridor along the front, eliminating any possibility of escape. Particular attention has been paid to hygiene. There is a 2ft ventilation gap between all the runs, proven to help prevent spread of infection and the runs and houses are all finished with durable washable materials to facilitate proper cleaning and disinfection. The whole cattery is roofed with clear perspex so the cats can still enjoy the runs when it is raining .
