Council is urging residents to be mindful of the impact of🎆 fireworks on pets, wildlife, and vulnerable members of our community.
The loud and unpredictable bangs can be extremely distressing for many. RSPCA research shows that over half of dogs 🐶, cats 😿, and horses🐴 show signs of distress during fireworks.
We also want to remind everyone that the sale and use of fireworks in Northern Ireland are strictly regulated❗
It is illegal to buy, possess, and use them without a valid licence.
If you are a pet owner, the Dogs Trust "Firework Dog Code" has some fantastic tips to help your pet cope:
✅Walk your dog before dark. Secure your house and garden.
✅Create a safe, quiet hiding place.
✅Stay with your dog and offer calm comfort.
