Christmas is in full swing here at Brennanstown, with two traditional events taking place. Friday was the Staff versus Livery Owners competition which took the form of Top Score jumping. Our Childrens' Christmas Show took place on Saturday where equitition jumping was the order of the day for the more experienced riders while the junior group took on an Obstacle Course. All then joined together for the Pony Club games which completed this Show. Santa and his reindeer (aka 'Nick' and 'Tommy') arrived in time to hand out the rosettes and prizes and were greeted by great cheers from both children and parents alike.

Another few busy weeks here at Brennanstown - BHS Stage 1, 4 and 4 Coach on 13,14 and 15 October followed by a Training Day for RDAI Volunteers on Monday 20 October to say nothing of the 4 week Hollybrook Riding Club Dressage League which was held over the last 4 Sundays.
All the above went well and the leagues finished on 26 October when the winners of the bronze horses for this year were decided and the trophies presented. In particular, we would like to congratulate Aoife and Alfie who won the RCE Class, Anna Maher and her young horse, Rumi, who took the YH Class and, of course, the wonderful Nick ridded by Sinead Barry, who brough home the RCP1 trophy, together with the Brian Bloomer Memorial and Iomar Costello Cup

Congratulations to Louise and Aoife who were both competing at the International Three Day Event in Ballindenisk last weekend - Louise in the 4* on Atlantic Rockstar (Rocky) and Aoife in the 2* on Slanduff Bell X1 (Oscar). Both had good dressage scores, a pole or two down in the showjumping and finished on Sunday with clear xc rounds over a testing track, with just a couple of time penalties. Term Riders please note that the Christmas term will commence this Saturday (4 October) - if you haven't already done so, please get your booking in through the Hopoti system. We do have a waiting list and will be contacting these people this week to allocate any free spaces.

Our busy summer season finished with a week of BHS Assessments last week - these went very well due to the efforts of our hard working staff to whom we would like to say a big ‘thank you ‘ The riding is now closed for a few weeks holidays to give our horses and staff a break ! We will be re opening for term riders on the 30th September .

We are delighted to congratulate Hollybrook Riding Club on winning the Team Championship at the Riding Club's National Dressage Championships in Mullingar last Sunday. The team of Amanda MacGowan (Yorkie), Helen Webb (India), Roisin McMackin (Beaux) and Joanne Logue (Lottie) all rode really well on the day to edge out the opposition and come home with the lovely cup. Joanne also won the Elementary Championship and Roisin was 2nd in the RCP3 Championship - well done to all of them!

Hectic Summer here at Brennanstown!
BHS Assessments from 24 - 27 June and well done to Tymandra, Shirley and Alex on their new qualifications!
We have catered for diverse groups ranging from cruise ships to corporate companies and Summer Kids Camps.
We are also running ongoing lessons, both private and group, for adults and children.
On the competition scene Hollybrook Riding Club qualified in July for the Riding Clubs National Dressage Championships in August, plus Louise had two eventing wins with Jinnie Webb's young horse 'September Moon' (Harvey) together with a win in Ballindenisk on 'Ballydrummond' (Henry)
