Has your pet gained weight over the festive period?
Bob has a very healthy body condition score with a usual weight of around 7kg due to daily walks, healthy royal canine nuts and treats in moderation. However he had a lot of scraps over Christmas…
We weighed him today and he tried to tell us the jumper weighed him down!!
Turns out the jumper only weighs 0.2kg Bob!!
There will be a health kick for Bob in the new year 🥰

Marley keenly awaiting home time after a tough day!

Marley is a very lucky 8 month old cockapoo that presented to us as an emergency this morning after she was knocked down and could not stand up.

We were relieved to discover on X-ray that her pelvis is intact. However she had a massive wound around her groin that required multiple stitches.

We wish Marley the best of luck with her recovery and look forward to seeing her back for her post op check 🐶🐾❤️🩺

There’s nothing like a brand new puppy patient to brighten our day here at Green Vets..
Holly is a 12 week old Border Collie that was in today for her vaccinations, microchip, rabies and a passport so she can jet off on her holidays with her new family 🥰 She is a brown tricolour which is quite an unusual colour for a collie. She has the loveliest temperament and enjoyed her first visit here with us despite the jabs!

Tick season is upon us!
Is your pet up to date on tick prevention?
Today Piper was in for her second vaccine. Now that she is fully vaccinated she can socialise and go for walks. She looks forward to strolls in the forest park. Ticks are more common is wooded and grassland areas but can occur anywhere in Ireland, in both rural and urban areas. As the temperatures rise, ticks become more active. Ticks can carry and spread Lyme’s disease.
Bob also got his Bravecto today. It also prevents fleas and mites and lasts for 3 months.
