With a scorcher of a May bank holiday ahead of us here in Ballydehob some tips to keep your pets cool and jazzy!
🐾 Refresh their water bowl regularly with a few ice cubes
🐕 Walk them early morning before the roads and footpaths become too hot to trot. Reduce play activity that could cause them to overheat.
🐶 Make an ice block for them to lick with their favourite tastes...gravy ice lollie anyone? Be sure to make it large enough not to swallow whole...no one enjoys brain freeze!
🐾 Cool them down placing a damp towel in their bedding or wherever they lie down
🐕 Avoid dousing them in cold water as this can lead to shock!
🐶 Make sure they have access to cool & shaded areas both indoors and outdoors and never leave them in cars or conservatories.
🐾 Contact your vet if they are drooling or panting excessively, if they are pacing or increasingly restless or if they have vomiting or diarrhoea.
