With a scorcher of a May bank holiday ahead of us here in Ballydehob some tips to keep your pets cool and jazzy!
πΎ Refresh their water bowl regularly with a few ice cubes
π Walk them early morning before the roads and footpaths become too hot to trot. Reduce play activity that could cause them to overheat.
πΆ Make an ice block for them to lick with their favourite tastes...gravy ice lollie anyone? Be sure to make it large enough not to swallow whole...no one enjoys brain freeze!
πΎ Cool them down placing a damp towel in their bedding or wherever they lie down
π Avoid dousing them in cold water as this can lead to shock!
πΆ Make sure they have access to cool & shaded areas both indoors and outdoors and never leave them in cars or conservatories.
πΎ Contact your vet if they are drooling or panting excessively, if they are pacing or increasingly restless or if they have vomiting or diarrhoea.
Happy jazzing everyone π·πΆπ
