Iceford Stables is a family run AIRE approved riding school. We cater for all ages and abilities and all instructors are BHS qualified.

Who hasn't dreamed of saddling up a horse and riding out over a sandy beach in search of adventure? At the Iceford Horse Riding Stables we have a large number of well trained horses in our Stables, one of which already has your name on it. And with acres of pristine natural beauty, access to the beautiful Enniscrone beach and a variety of riding programs and events to accommodate any level of skil

l, Iceford Stables is where dreams of adventure on horseback come to life. Iceford stables is open all year round, 7 days a week. Our instructors are fully qualified to BHS stage 3 and 4 standard and hold current child safety and first aid certs. Our strengths lie in the standard of tuition available, the quality of our horses and ponies and not to mention our facilities, which include a 20x30m outdoor manege, our indoor arena with viewing gallery and x country facilities (soon to be all weather). Pony camps are available during all non school term periods, catering for beginners to advanced riders. The indoor arena, with a full course of showjumps are available for hire through out the year. Full livery and grass livery are also available. Check our website and page regularly to stay up to date with all up coming events at Iceford. We regular hold mini midi maxi show jumping competitions, dressage competitions and combined training.

This week in our People and Places of North Mayo video series we meet Aiden Anderson of Iceford Stables. This family run business is located just 10 minutes from Ballina and is surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way. The activities available at Iceford offer an exhilarating day out for all from age five and a half upwards. Whether it’s your first time on a horse or whether you are an experienced jockey, Iceford has something for you.

With indoor facilities, Iceford can open all year around for lessons, treks, pony camps and birthday parties. Guided outdoor treks for more confident horse riders consist of peaceful countryside treks through the farmland with views of Nephin and the River Moy. They are guided by experienced and qualified staff including Lizzy Naughton whom we also meet in the video.

The perfect activity for locals and holidaymakers alike, a visit to Iceford is a must for a really unique and enjoyable North Mayo experience.
