A south Sligo family are issuing a heartfelt plea for the safe return of two of their pet ducks after they were stolen from their property in Aclare, Co Sligo on Saturday evening.
The Indian Runner Ducks, Lionel and Pumpkin, were reared with Miriam and Jeremy Nedlock since they were ten days old and the couple are heartbroken that they have been taken. Lionel in particular is extremely friendly and Jeremy says he would follow him into the house and around the garage. They have seven ducks in total, all named, and the five remaining ducks have been incredibly distressed since Saturday, Miriam explained.
The couple say they are adamant that Lionel and Pumpkin were taken and not snatched by predators such as foxes, minks or pinemartins as there would be evidence left behind, such as feathers and blood.
