Skippy (aka Professor Snape) solemnly swears he is up to no good 🧙🪄

Skippy the elegant Saluki had bilateral dew claw removal today to help prevent injuries during high-speed runs.

In sighthounds like the Saluki, dew claws are often non-functional and loosely attached, making them prone to tearing. Removal reduces the risk of injury, improves comfort, and helps keep these fast, agile dogs performing at their best. 🐕 🐾💨

Meet Jurten, the handsome young cat who had a taste of a lily plant. 🌺

Vomiting started quite quickly, but luckily his owners knew that this type of plant is extremely toxic for cats. He came into the clinic and was immediately hospitalised, put on fluids and treatment was started to minimise irreversible kidney damage. 🫘

Luckily he was discharged after a few days in a very good mood, charming all the staff members. Coming back in the near future for a repeated blood check, but hopefully will be send home with no ongoing issues. 🩸

Hopefully he learned his lesson... not everything that looks beautiful should be eaten 😉🌺

🐾 The Tip of the Iceberg 🐾

Joey came to us after being attacked by another dog while out on a walk. On arrival he had significant bruising and an open wound with deep tissue separation beneath the skin. X-rays showed air trapped under the skin - a common “iceberg injury” with dog bites where damage runs much deeper than it looks.

Under anaesthesia, our team performed a complex wound exploration. The large dorsal wound was carefully cleaned and reconstructed.

The first few days carried a guarded prognosis , bite wounds can declare new damage over time - but Joey had other plans 💪

Today… he’s bright, comfortable and healed beautifully ❤️
A brave little dog with a big personality, and a reminder that bite injuries always deserve prompt veterinary care, even when they look small on the surface.
