Boy were we happy to find this little lady this morning. Clogheen Whirlwinds 10th foal and first filly! Sired by Inishfree the holy grail ex Clogheen Whirlwind by Fast Silver ex Hawklands Blue Heather by Timahoe Heather ex Roma Blue wind by Blue Henry. She has lovely bone coupled with quality. 🎉

The Bachelor is available again for 2026. Not a bad list of achievements for his progeny below for a horse who’s still only 12. It’s looking like he’ll get to gold merit before his sire Fast Silver who did so at 18. 🤞

First foal of the year. Filly by Clogheen Timmy ex Macs Appeal by Fast Silver. Macs Appeal is a full sister to the class 1 stallion Macs Silver and she goes back to the dam of the great sire Uibh Fhaili ‘81 on the dam line.

Interestingly the mare on the right here Killountain Lara by Pride of Shaunlara is the great grand dam of Denis Dullea Jnr’s outstanding yearling filly by The Bachelor. Same dam line is on the farm in West Cork for over 60 years.

Uibh Fhaili Treasure by Uibh Fhaili ‘81 ex Glen Heste Goldie by Legaun Prince. This mare won a lot as a youngster including reserve champion as a yearling in Roscommon and Limerick as a 2 yo to Nancy Steele. Pictured here taking the youngstock championship at the national show in Lanesborough in 1997. Interesting note here is that she’s from Noel Hamilton’s good dam line which produced the approved stallions Gortfree Hero and Silver Granite. Uibh Fhaili treasure is shown her by my late friend Joe Rohan. She was owned by Patricia and Viny Hennessy who still have mares from the line to this day.
