The honeymoon of Kavics and Irma went really well, if everything goes as planned, little paws will make Irma and Tarah busy in Ferndale, WA 🇺🇸 around 3rd week of July.
When a dedicated breeder gets something in the mind, than there is no impossible. So I flew over the Ocean with Kavics and back, to make this breeding happen. I truly believe it will be a great match, with so many fantastic dogs behind Kavics, starting with his mom, my beloved Puma, who besides being a beautiful female, and a Champion in the show ring, she was even more outstanding in work. She was a Hungarian Versatile Work Champion, winner of many competitions, and she even passed the NAVHDA UT in Prize 1 with max score in 2019, when she was not yet 2 years old!!! Kavics has the temperament and working abilities of his mom, only in a male version, with a bit bigger frame and more coat. But the good news is, that Kavics is homozygous on the furnishing gene (F/F), so there will not be any smooth coated pups in the litter for sure. He is also ECLE clear, DM free, HUU clear, HD-A, ED-free, eyes clear just like Irma. Irma had her OFA hip and elbow scoring done at 4 years after her 2nd litter (before that, she only had the Hungarian version), and she still got an Excellent grade and free of ED as well. That is quite something.
And not to forget that both Irma and Kavics did very well in show. Irma is a Hungarian Champion, and was Wirehaired Vizsla of the year in Hungary in 2022 (or 2023, not sure). Kavics was Junior European Winner and Hungarian Junior Champion. Both passed the NA in Hungary with max score, than the VAV and ÖTV (these are the 3 levels of the field and water testing system) in 1st prize, all passing before 1,5 years of age.
I also got to meet Helen and Thya, the two pups from Irma's previous litter. I just couldn't take my eyes off of them, they were sooo nice looking, with a great temper and already showing great instincts for hunting. These pups were sired by Extreme, so are the repeated breeding of my Zsálya and Zseton, and were equally promising.
It was a lovely time spent, thank you Tarah again for making it so eventfull. We visited many beautiful places, had a great time with the dogs, and we even managed to run 2 days of training, where I got to see some of my Zoldmali kids and also other wires. But the training will be a separate post soon.
